"Get ready to see these buzzing around Frisco (Tx) soon", "Yeah, you can hear it."

So, thousands of these buzzin' around a neighborhood sound like what? Mechanical mosquitos?
And they're disturbing your peace to deliver ice cream (or pizza or ...) to your neighbor?!
Best guess: Not a serious problem for the 3-pound deliveries, but wait until you hear the noise of the heavier deliveries!
Best guess: Until homeowners complain, drones pass over their homes to reach the delivery point ... then return the same route!
Best guess: Neighbors may be tolerant if they get free samples of your food deliveries from time to time.
That's the ticket! A group pizza! (drone drops off a slice to each home in group)
Best guess: Police helicopters will always have the right way (and police may get a tip to inspect a package before its delivery
since it may be drugs or weapons or sexxxy movies).
Best guess: Drones themselves are not prepared to fly amongst thousands of delivery drones.
As for birds, they probably don't return to Capistrano next year!
Best guess: Happier are the neighbors who order lasers to shoo a delivery drone (or capture a free package).
Best guess: Laws don't exist yet to properly control/coordinate thousands of drone deliveries

OMG! What happens if a drone delivers an unexpected package to you?
Do you keep it? Open it? Is it safe? Verify with your 'Whatsit?' app
"What a world!", "What a world!" Hurry! ... or the ice cream be melting:

OMG! Did that drone just TP my tree
Rod ...

... (off for ice cream the old way)
