Well they cost over $500 each to make, and folks living in walking distance without a car typically roll them down the street to their apartment, so the supermarkets have to run a pick up service. However vandals sometimes throw them into drains, and some folks put them into their garage to hold rubbish...hmm wrote:Cool! BTW are lost trolleys a real big problem in Australia?
One or two chains use a 2 dollar coin to release a trolley, but it doesn't really stop it, simply makes 95% of folks roll the empty trolley back to its bay.
This same chain had 20 special carts for kids, real fun things, and they last had 2 left, folks just pinched them.
It may be because we have lots of big malls surrounded by apartments, and so the folks need trolleys to get their stuff to the car park, and those without cars just roll on home.
love,
Geoff
