Hi Nick, very nice prompts... :D

Me too! :sunflower:

I have been on those small commuter planes a few times heading to and from Knoxville. Luckily I have never experienced the turbulance you did on that last flight from Detroit! I do remember a flight from Australia to LA where all of the several hundred passengers clapped and practically kissed the ground when we finally arrived. That flight was frought with lengthy delays before even leaving Sydney ...Then there were lighting problems in flight... not enough of the preferred dinners.. (some people get so grumpy over food. ;) ) Luckily I had a vegetarian meal ordered... I think my row mates were just a tad jealous. ;) I guess the final straw was another bit of a wait as there were no gates for our plane since it's arrival was scheduled for 8 hours earlier and the long wait at the counter, as every person missed their connecting flight... Still it was an experience. But as much as you fly I bet you really have some flight stories... and have learned to weather every possible scenario. :thumright:

Have a great week end!!!... Glad you get to be home doing something enjoyable. :bana:

Love,
Sandy

:hithere Hi ((Sandy)),
I remember one flight from Chicago are 4 delays they finally canceled the flight.
The guy next to me was all kinds of upset, I told him that with our size plane be
glad they canceled. I would have a hard time with your flights, I'm finding 4 hours
flying is just about my limit.

Peace and Love

Hi all :hithere

I may have to carry a tape recorder now also. ;)
only kidding. But I did get my first prompt from
a conversation between 2 people. I was sitting in
a building office and one of the workers
came in and say to his supervisor "Paul, the
shipment came in and we got Eleven, Eleven boxes..."
Now you know my ears perked up for that one.
I could think of a whole lot of different ways he could
have said that.

Happy Wednesday
Nick :bike:

Hi Nick! :hithere You know...I think that is the first verbal prompt I've heard. Well thats cool! 8) Wonder if they are running out of ways to surprise you. hmmm nope...no way... I must say you get the most amazing prompts. 8) My favorite is still the 11 and 11 racing toy cars you saw in a shop window a couple years ago. :D

Love,
Sandy

Hi ((Sandy)),
what made it so interesting was it was
a strange way of stating it. Because
immediately he clarified it with "yeah
11 box's of...and 11 box's of..."
Yes, I also liked that car prompt,
But the car service one I think was the best.
Getting on a Bus and seeing a car service car
go past with the 1111 phone number on the door.
He was going east and my Bus was going South
and then 20 minutes later I get off the Bus
walk to the corner and the exact same car service
car passes in front of me. ( I recognized the dents :D )

Hope you have a great weekend
Wishing everyone a great weekend.

Oh I had forgotten that one Nick...It was a goodie...I guess the toy race cars appealed to me cause I am such a kid at heart. :baby How I loved sitting on the floor playing toys with my boys when they were young. Of course it took me awhile to get into cars and trucks...Heman, Ninja turles and the likes... but now I'll be qualified as an equal opportunity granny someday, wowing grandsons as well as grandaughters with my creative play ability! ;) Well hopefully..may be counting my grandkids before they hatch or something like that... I haven't given up hope that all this "childlike experience" won't go unused.

Have a great wek end!

Sandy

Good morning Nick, Thanks for all the posts. I worked at the Lexington KY airport from 84-97. Your posts helped me to remember many of the fun, unusual and quirky things that happen at airports. Having grown up as a farm boy the airport experience was often fascinating.

:hithere ((((Hugs To All )))),
:bike: It's good to be back. I almost didn't make it. A little story here. While I was
in Washington D.C. I had an freak accident. My left foot struck a piece of sidewalk
that was lifted up about 2 inches and I felt something in my calf snap like a rubber band.
It turned out to be a one inch long and 1 inch deep tear in my calf muscle. This happened
October 19 2010.

Image

I was on disability and was scheduled to come back to work Thanksgiving week on Monday.
(Or...so I thought) that Sunday night I had just finished eating Dinner and was walking through our living room when
I felt strange and walked to the sofa and sat down and I instantly passed out. Lucky for me my wife
came in no more than a minute after 1 passed out and she called 911 and then started to revive me.
I came back all cold and cold sweats and feeling weak and out of breath.

It turns out a blood clot from my leg injury had gone through my heart and into my lungs. I was in ICU
Sunday to Wednesday and Telemetry till Friday when I was released. They had thought I had an
heart attack, but lucky for me the Cardiologist also thought like I did, that it wasn't a heart attack.
I had no pain during that whole incident.
He had them do a Cat scan on my chest and an ultra sound
on my leg, because he suspected a blood clot. It turns out i have a blood clot in both lungs and a third one still in my leg.

I'm on blood thinner so no new blood clots should form, and the body has to absorb the others in time.

I looking at returning to work January 4th. My doctor said I was very, very lucky.

My only advice is to cherish each day...because you never know.

Hi Shield :hithere

Almost missed your post. With that blood clot still in my leg
I'm not exactly eager to go flying all over the place again.
The clot may want to find it's friend  :D
I'm sure I'll have a few more stories coming.

Such great stories! Thank you for sharing them! I liked the odometer story. Just this weekend, my boyfriend and I were returning home from a quick trip to see our parents. He said to me, "I wonder if we'll see the odometer turn to 111,111 on this trip." Then he glanced down, and watched it turn to that exact number! He was only making a wild guess -- he said he'd had no real idea how near we were to reaching that count!

Enjoy your day, everyone! Peace! :hithere

I Love when that happens. Glad you enjoyed them.
A lot of these are repeated on my 1111stories site.
the archive goes back to 2006, I can't even believe how many I've had.

Hello Nick, I feel like I have gotten an early christmas present when I tuned in tonight and saw you had posted. :bana: As you may have noticed, you have been missed and we are much better when you are among us. I was shocked to hear of your accident, and just a few days after our posts in October too. How is the leg muscle now? Is it on the mend? I am most thankful that you still had one of your "nine lives" left and would like to offer you a few of mind should the situation arise again and you find the "life larder" empty. ;)

I must say, I too am having a few computer problems. (My own fault) and the past day or so Geoff has worked tirelessly to try to correct it. I think the worst is over but I desperately need a new mouse as this one only works when it wants to. :?

Hope you and your family have a blessed holiday season! :hithere
with Love,
Sandy
P.S. Nick, George just asked me if you would like to be on the healer's list? If so just pm me with your details. I think we already have most of the needed info they prefer from your posts, except perhaps a rough idea of your age..... 29 right? :D ((((HUGS))))
