1. Tonight, reheating a frozen slice of Pumpkin Muffin Log ...
Place heat deflector (metal plate) on top of stovetop burner,
top with a small sheet of foil, place frozen slice on foil,
cover with stainless dog's water bowl and heat on low.
A stovetop oven! (use gloves to remove dog bowl ...
and don't return to Fido until cool)
Tip: Heat deflector can also toast bread
(turn slice over to toast both sides).
2. This morning, reheating refrigerated brewed coffee ...
On a small stovetop burner, heat 1/4" of water in a small pan.
When steaming, pour in coffee and heat as desired
(steam is good indication of hot coffee).
Tip: Pre-heating of pan with small amount of water
works well for leftover food that was refrigerated
(cover pan and heat food on low).
3. Last night, making a cup of green tea ...
Heat water in a kettle on the stove top.
4. Months ago, melting a bar of chocolate ...
Pre-heat oven to 350F degreees.
Break bar into small pieces and place in oven-proof bowl.
Turn off oven, heat bowl until chocolate melts (about 15 min.)
Use gloves to remove HOT bowl!
Lesson: A microwave saves time, but not that much
(and was an unknown appliance for centuries)
