Hello everyone,
I hope this isn’t too off topic for this section. I don’t know if anyone can answer this but I wanted to ask if medications can interfere with celestial contact while meditating? I’m asking because my family has bad brain chemistry on both sides and I finally decided to try a mild antidepressant to see if it helps me. I know celestial communication is a finicky thing or at least for me it is and I’m wondering if the medication will help or hinder any communication.
Lots of love,
Nikki

Nikki,
I don't know myself, think it's a good question! We've discussed that mind altering substances like drugs and alcohol certainly have an effect. Seems like anything that helps us to feel better about ourselves and our lives should be helpful to us spiritually, but I will leave that to others who really know about this stuff. Nice to see you on the boards.

Hi Nikki,
This is a perfect place to ask such a question.
I'm not in a knowledgeable position to answer it, but
I sent this to George and he says he will come and give it some thought.
I do know that G is taking a wide variety of medications for various ailments and it doesn't seem to affect him...
no worries...
love,
Sandy

Hi there Nikki,
At nearly 80 years of age I take a daily swag of meds to be able to keep going.
None of the meds interfere with my regular contacts. All is fine since I was 6.
A mild antidepressant might well elevate your chances.
Cheers . . . and much love.

Hi Nikki
I take anti-psychotics at this point to help with my brain function. It appears to make my brain a lot more sluggish and 'grindy', but I find ways to tolerate this issue.
Perhaps take some time to research potential side-effects of the medications you are taking or plan to take, physical and psychological. The wrong medication for the wrong person, can cause disasters. We are all very unique in our biochemistry. Taking something light is recommended, as George suggested.
If your brain is difficult, you might consider having a very strict diet and exercise regime, to offset the difficulty, i.e. to encourage it to play ball more fairly, more of the time. This might be a more natural approach. Just keep observing what does, or doesn't, affect your brain in a negative way.
You could also consider looking at these works: 'Nutrient Power: Heal Your Biochemistry and Heal Your Brain' by William Walsh, and 'Psychiatry Without Drugs' by Keith Scott-Mumby.
Take care!
