Meditate under direct sunligt, why not!?

Hi,
I've a small question, why we shouldn't get into the AC under direct sunlight?!
It's because we get more energy and that could 'burn' our brain?
God bless.

I've wondered the same thing JM. I would have thought it would be a very pleasant thing to do.
Come on George - what's the reason?

Hi there Ang and JM. Good question! I was thinking about it and maybe it's because in the dark, your pupils will dialate( or get bigger). In the sunlight they will constrict ( or get smaller) Less distractions in the dark? It allows me to focus on my breathing and going within when I'm not in the sunlight it seems. God Bless! Brenda

Heehee! Good one! And no, after years of 'locking onto' Alpha, many can go to the Akashic Construct while on the beach or during a walk in the park.
However, strong light tends to
up the rhythm of the brain and mind. Think of starting stillness meditation as like learning to swim. After much practice you need not think about moving your arms and legs. It's now routine.
After much meditation your brain/mind knows exactly how to drift into Alpha, and strong light becomes a minor factor to overcome.
God bless.....
George.

Ah - I see. I've been a meditator for many years so this is probably why I couldn't understand the need to avoid sunlight. Thanks George

Question.....is this a rule of thumb, or can it vary from individual to individual?
I ask, because when I was rather new to meditation, I LOVED to meditate in the sun. That is actually when I got the head's up about swine flu. I also ask because I'm headed to Jamaica Mon soon and was planning to meditate on the beach...(the beach is my "happy place" where I mentally go when I first start meditating). I was very anxious to try meditating on the REAL beach.
LOVE!!!!

It's customary for those who do face-to-face training in meditation to ensure there is only subdued light -- as well, clinical hypnotherapists tend to work with their cases in subdued light.
But . . . it's hardly mandatory.
God bless.....
George.

Akashic Construct VS Stillness Meditation
Posted: Mon Feb 15, 2010 7:15 pm
by DJKENZ
Hi folks,
I've been using the Akashic Construct CD waaay more
than I do Trancendental meditation.
Is that acceptable or should BOTH be done?
Moreover, can I opt for TM versus Stillness coz I don't think I really understand
what Stillness Meditation is but I can do TM very well (over 20 years now.)
According to WILL's transcript (link below,) the mantra should be dropped.
While I agree that TM
does produce obliteration of consciousness,
how do you drop the mantra? My mantra is a meaningless word that doesn't
produce any imagery or any 5-sensed reaction. Should I just try to keep
an "attitude" of going deeper like the mantra does for me.. but without the mantra?
