Apparently, "transgender" needs to be explicitly defined as "gender in transition"
until proven completed. For example, a male in transition to female is not "female"
until the transition is technically completed ... since it's impossible for a female
to impregnate another female with the donor's existing anatomy.

Actually, the narrative was never that a 'good guy with gun' is the solution to mass shootings -
such guns are for personal protection That they might help limit mass casualties is a bonus.

Of course, there's significant risk to the good guy if perceived as the original aggressor.
And what society would tolerate a good guy not taking action when given the opportunity?
(the Uvalde police now seem to have this "good guy" problem)

Historically, women (as then defined) wore skirts to showcase their legs,
for traditional fashion, or just for comfort. Now, men (however defined)

... not to mention cosmetics, grooming, whatever.

I recall that Joe Namath's 1973 pantyhose covered his legs,
but his legs were like that fashion era's objet d'art.

Best guess: A comedian needs to let the "creative mind" create the comedy material,
then edit it with the "critical mind" for the expected audience. Blinders on creative mind
may reduce necessary editing but may give lowest common denominator of material.

is that a Plan B and Plan C might compensate, keeping the door sufficiently closed

Recently, a husband lectured his wife about her frequent complaining. "Those are just Talking Points," she insisted. "Well, please keep your TP Monologues short while I'm watching the day's news, he mumbled.

Talking Points (TP) is great euphemism to mention a past event at that retired friend's house. His little kitchen TV was getting poor reception from the cable connection to a large digital antenna in his attic. I helped him shop for a similar new TV and suggested a small digital antenna in his kitchen (actually, his wife's kitchen). She soon complained that it made her kitchen look like "the ghetto!" and demanded that he remove it. This became my task ... and required patching/painting of the nail hole.

Cool! Avant-Ghetto became the term I use to describe the den in my man-cave where I have a large digital antenna on the wall ... plus complementary (stuff) on other walls. Incidentally, few people know that (stuff) is popular euphemism in Avant-Ghetto journalism. And this suggests that a Big (Stuff) store could compete with a Big Lots here in Texas!

Strange assumption (jumping) since jumping without parachute often refers to suicide
... and a plane with landing gear problems is likely to crash. The really good movies
often show a heroic pilot who saves the plane/passengers but not himself.

Pilot probably tried to resolve landing gear problem and fell,
pushed by strong wind current. Pilot jumped? Media creativity?

Speaking of strange ...
A later story says the co-pilot jumped.
