... unlike precious metals, traditional works of art, and real currency!
Without computers, networks, electricity these tokens do not exist.

(apparently, other cops were doing the actual constraining). Nevertheless, the symbolism of this cop's verdict is probably
"for the greater good". Also, the charges permitted his role as accomplice to remain the primary focus.
