hi guys! wow the forum is interacting so smoothly today. i havent been able to post as much because of the lag time. but i wanted to share this mornings journal entry, with the hope that something said here may give insight, comfort or personal revelations in your own journey....
ah, the comfort of being nestled back in my quiet space, is too good. smiles.

this morning, awareness was feeling quite expansive. i wish to document, note the subtle sensations here- as having occurred.
our little group consciousness and non-ordinary states of consciousness experiment, has been incredible. little pin points as origin containing heaps and bounds of potential and information. like a seed, zeroed in, prior to its bloom. and the movement, the churning? the sprouting of the seed, the revelation of its life, felt as one. a sense of omnipresence.
i see a greater message, in relation to my own unfolding, with LB's post... between resistance and flow.
on my way to the grocery store this morning, there was a homeless man sitting under a red light on the island stationed between traffic. there were two turning lanes as i approached, and i noticed the cars in front of me choosing the lane further away from the homeless man and wondered if people were trying to avoid him.
it's understandable. i grew up in this city, there are a lot of drugs, gangs, mental illnesses and violence. it's natural, and proper, to wish to avoid that.
but another feeling came over me in that moment, like a deeper sense of being. i realized my windows were already down, as i was enjoying the cool morning air.
i let go of the worry and decided to pull into the lane closest to him. we looked at each other and gave a nod. i hadn't any cash or food handy, and he asked if i had either. but, even after telling him i was empty handed- we ended up making a pleasant exchange. the man deals with chronic pain, and was hoping to get something to relieve it. he started telling me some of his favorite foods, and i laughed and agreed with him- he told me how much he loves coffee and is just trying to find ways to ease his pain.
he was very coherent, but you can tell he was truly homeless and worn. then the light turned green, and he told me... thank you.
just before driving off he told me to think of him(with a brief pause)-
...i will.
it dawned on me that the simple act of acknowledgment was extremely therapeutic for the both of us. i saw him smiling as i was driving off. i'd like to believe, in that moment, some of his pain had been relieved.
with our group practice, i realized one of the guides responsible for bringing in this level of clarity, direction and strength-
goes by the name, "the son of no body" which is rather fitting, considering we are exploring non-ordinary states of consciousness.
and one of the more profound messages the son has imparted with me, is this...
"For even those dangerous lost souls must be cared for. Follow me out of here."
this was the message, not an instruction that i must follow- but a realization that i'm being led. and, this phrase refreshed itself in my memory as i was driving away from the homeless man. not because there is a hierarchy between us, absolutely not- but because i realized i felt some of that suspicion and resistance as i was approaching him... a survival instinct. it would be more fair then, to say in that moment, should fear and survival have dominated the narrative- that either of us have the potential to be the dangerous and lost soul.
and when i realized this, a car appeared next to me- with the custom license plate,
"THE FLOW"
reminding me to go with the flow. reminding me of resistance vs flow states.
yesterday, while at work, a very low energy and suspicious couple came into the store. this put me and my fellow coworkers on alert. i was asked to remain up front in case they'd try to steal something. i believe we witnessed a pimp and his hoe. i don't mean that as a joke either. and despite that feeling of resistance, i tried very hard to keep my energy in a state of respectful but discerning engagement.
and to everyone's surprise- by the end of it, they ended up dropping their own guard and coming off as more approachable.
and in no means, am i attempting to encourage others to ignore their survival instinct. as i've said, this city can be dangerous. i've been threatened with a gun while getting gas, i've been threatened for eye contact and saying good morning- i've been threatened for simply existing and looking different. and i think there is a large sum of energy here, where people in the city, feel this state of threat and survival simply existing. it's a sad affair, one i wish didn't have to be, but one i must be mindful of as i live and move in this heavily populated area.
i know there are moments that require a guard, that require defensive posturing. but between yesterday and today, i am reminded of choosing good will over fear. some days, that's really hard. but i think, as LB has pointed out in a separate post, it's equally important to acknowledge the uncertainty or the survival instinct as it arises-
i think it is equally important to go with the flow, to offer your self wholly and sincerely however you're able... wherever you find your self.
and one of the things LB mentioned was to witness what was occurring within. to acknowledge it. this revelation carried into my own life experience.
personal reflections and deeper explorations...

in our group study, i was reminded once more of the truest meaning of a, "retrieval."
as i've come to experience it- god is the ground of being. "in him we move and have our being."
god as love/awareness both as form and beyond form.
the son of no one/no body, wasn't saying that we are all condemned as dangerous and lost. the son of no one is reminding us that we belong to god. a retrieval in the greatest sense is god bringing us home. home is not a geographic location, home is a felt quality of union and peace. the son, leads the way, in whispers- what i've called the living spirit.
in this way, we are all equals. we are all potentially dangerous and lost.
a closer examination of the image shared and i realize something else...
the word chevron is apparent. a chevron, as a contemplative piece, from the viewpoint of consciousness or awareness as a singularity - is the meeting of two lines with an apex as a point.
just prior to that photo, there was the meeting of my self and the homeless man. there were even "two lanes" to choose from.
with yesterday's customer engagement- there was dark and fear felt energy walking into the store and a choice between posturing defensiveness or giving the benefit of the doubt.
despite all of the uncertainty, both interactions resulted in acknowledgement.
perhaps beyond form, this is the son retrieving itself. awareness, recognizing itself in that moment... the nod of appreciation, the gentle thank you. the homeless man, and my self as 'other than' were not separate in that moment... the pimp and hoe now just a man and woman, opening up, in heart felt exchange. all of us being more than how the world- or fear and instinct, would define us.
the chevron as a symbol is a V where two lines meet at a point.
i can say the homeless, the pimp, the hoe... but in that moment of union, at that apex point... pimp and hoe were illusory. instead, it was just human beings, being together. the lines are only as real as we make them. but the meeting of self, when peace or union is felt, is what remains and what speaks behind the forms.
it is very much like that seed of potential in the beginning of this post, that point, as an omnipresence- and this movement, as the breath of god.
one of the greatest gifts is free will. and no one outside ourselves can rob us of that. we may give in to external threats, we may allow conditions to define us. but we are more than these things. and a retrieval reminds us that we are never separated from god.
