"Bitcoin and Tether cryptocurrencies are a massive, illegal fraud that will catastrophically collapse"

"Bitcoin is a bubble, a speculation tied to nothing of value. It’s vertical gains over the past six months
are reminiscent of other historic speculations that ultimately ended in catastrophe."

 Obviously, people like bubbles and are risk tolerant (until they're not).
Super-prize yearly lottery mania is a good example (some people "invest"
weekly for many years). But unlike lotteries, bitcoin transaction
technology (re: "blockchain") keeps improving with usage. 8)

 Why not consider such bubble support as technology investment
... for future generations? However, donating to charitable causes
gives better near-term societal ROI. ;)

:study: Re: https://sputniknews.com/viral/202104041 ... ex-drive-/

"COVID-19 quarantine measures imposed in the United Kingdom have affected the sexual lives of young adults aged between 18 and 32.
The study found that sexual desire among this age group was lower during lockdown compared to pre-lockdown for men and women"

 Intriguing study but not identifying how lockdown achieves this success (or failure, depending on viewpoint).
Maybe the young need more frequent access to fragrant flowers to keep their garden hormones horny ...
whereas older people have learned to hoe with other hobbies sufficiently fragrant (and/or tasty).

"China Creates its Own Digital Currency, a First for Major Economy"

"China’s version of a digital currency is controlled by its central bank, which will issue the new electronic money.
It is expected to give China’s government vast new tools to monitor both its economy and its people. By design,
the digital yuan will negate one of bitcoin’s major draws: anonymity for the user."

 Somehow, no anonymity with transactions never forgotten (re: "blockchain" perpetuity)
doesn't seem such a great leap forward for the people (but a super leap for the state) :!:

"Portland school halts plan to make evergreen tree its new mascot over fears it could be tied to LYNCHING" :o

 Living (and moving) mascots have long been favored by social organizations,
but to say that a tree is living and moving is not really "horticultural".

Incidentally, Cannabis Sativa (not Indica) makes a better plant mascot
since it redirects this traditional pleasure focus to industrial hemp:

Re: https://www.surterra.com/learn/types-of-cannabis/

"Cannabis Sativa is commonly known as hemp and has a variety of industrial uses. It is rich in cannabidiol, an all-natural non-psychoactive compound found in the cannabis plant. For centuries, hemp has been used to make clothes, paper, body care products, rope and more."

"She Looks Like Madonna’s Grandmother"

 At first glance, the boots suggest a Melania fashion influence (not this skirt and fishnets).
Apparently, one has to be fashion-savvy to know when stylish fishnets are "trashy"
and when they're appropriate lures (to fashionistas, fishermen, et al.). :?

... which reminds me of a man in a grocery store last year
wearing fishnets for a mask (probably a savvy protest).

Re: "How the Mind Works", by Steven Pinker, 1997, 565 pages

 An entertaining book to read, especially during periods of private isolation,
but my reading habits hint that I'll use a year's supply of toilet paper before the final page.

A quick scan (15 sheets of TP used ; - ) has already proven that this book shows how the mind wanders!
When discussing evolution of body organs, Pinker mentions an hypothetical "101 Uses for an Old Laptop",
with "paperweight" being one of those uses. He then notes that "101 Uses for an Old Paperweight"
would probably not be written. ;)

However, a wandering mind soon discovers many uses for an old paperweight,
like "The Last Dollar Bill I Owned" (re: current cryptocurrency promotions). :o

"Great Britain’s Prince Philip dies aged 99"

"But the royal consort also enjoyed relieving boring occasions by insulting members of the press. His gaffes were infamous. For instance, he called Beijing a 'ghastly city' while on a royal visit there. He once asked a female navy cadet if she worked in a strip club. And he congratulated a British backpacker in Papua New Guinea for not being eaten."

"male macaque with chips embedded on each side of its brain, playing 'Mind Pong'. Although trained to move a joystick,

 This immediately suggests that humans can remain couch potatoes
and have a full workout just thinkin' about an exercise routine.
Caution: Digital muscles probably require less food energy!

Note: The monkey is still moving the joystick but its brain signals
actually cause the video game movements - not the joystick!
A sans joystick test will necessarily be a next goal ...

Note: This assumes that a total of 10 episodes in a month is not "binge watching".

"How easy (or hard) is it to confuse a gun for a Taser?"

 Taser designs seem good & sufficient to distinguish it from a gun,
however in that brief moment of urgency something more intuitive
than design features needs to be the subconscious control.

This hints of intense training for "gun vs taser" decisions. roll:

See also: https://spectrum.ieee.org/consumer-elec ... aser-works

A new feature might include a light, visible from back of taser (seen by officer)
that would activate immediately when the taser is removed from it holster.
This always visible light will significantly contrast with a no-light gun. ;)

"More than 30 states now considering bills to ban sexually confused boys from girls sports"

"West Virginia is the latest state to move toward protecting girls and women
from having to compete against boys and men claiming to be female."

 For many of the "sexually confused", "claiming to be female" is also "believing to be female".
Older men may experience "sexual confusion" when desire is insufficient to promote physical response.
All adults could be considered "sexually confused" when their sexuality is reflective of wild animals.
Not to worry! Sexual confusion is the media's new era fashion statement (in the genes).
Sexual confusion is just a label gifted to you by others ... with no RSVP. ;)

Proposed advertisement for a school bookstore:
"Sexually confused? Get a new pronoun!" :hithere

In 2013 President Obama legalized the use of propaganda on the US public HR4310 also known as Smith-Mundt moderinzation act of 2012.

On April 13th 2021 project veritas released a video of CNN's technical director admitting to the use of propaganda to sway election results and steer an established narrative for the American people. In it he says the next big focus is climate change and is quoted saying, "fear sells."

" 'Mistress' is problematic because there is no male equivalent"
"Others recommended using 'paramour', 'adulterer,' or 'homewrecker' "

 Maybe the non-mistress woman is the one responsible
... or the man by being the center of attention. Apparently,
"mistress" was contrast to "Mrs." (the married woman):

 Re: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss

"Miss is an English language honorific traditionally used only for an unmarried woman ...
Originating in the 17th century, it is a contraction of mistress, used for all women.
Its counterparts are Mrs., usually used only for married women, and Ms.,
which can be used for married or unmarried women."

 The man could believe that both Ms. are responsible!
... hinting that a 'B' word already exists for the man. ;)
