relic
they say a rolling stone gathers no moss
well,
i know what i am.
i'm a fractured relic planted firmly in the ground
and the pains of this world have opened my heart
to the ecstasy of love...

Re: relic
Eric,
You would not believe how long I contemplated this poem. In my reading last night there was a quote about the importance of a person knowing his true self, alas searched the pages, but couldn't find it... maybe it was from the night before. As I've spent many hours soul searching lately, it seems every time I read your poem I get a slightly different meaning.
It's quite amazing, really, the realizations you've made! I swear the picture pulses when looking at it.
Love, peace and courage to you,
Kim

And Spirit whispered, "There are no limits."

Re: relic
It seems the photo you chose is perfect for your poem... I can almost feel the love flowing from the cracks that life and living produced. Wonderful poem...maybe it is life and living that truly help us to understand love. In that case I am glad to be a puny mistake plagued mortal of this little blue planet.
Love,
Sandy

Eric,
So, not only do the cracks let light come in, reaching those recesses deep within, it also lets the light flow out to those around us and eventually filtering into the universe.
What a blessing it is for us to try and be light workers.... How I do hope that everyone is having a light filled day.
Love,
Kim

Eric,
More and more I'm reading about the cracks in our armor and encrustments, allowing in light and love. Every time I think of your poem and the cracked pot.
Thanks again for posting it,
Kim

Dear Kim,
Those cracks help us realize there is only Love.
I am beginning to feel, so long as one is living according to their Heart, God will sort things out. Place Faith in this, as Child of God would remind us, Let Go and Let God.
Thank you for all your support.

...only my beloved will stop and admire my crumbled stature
and for you lord, my heart sings!
and when you are gone, i will remain
longing for our union through out the ages
until you behold me once more
and those with eyes that see will know,
I Am Alive!

So beautiful Eric...
I enjoyed re reading this thread and your new addition... wow... my heart is heavy with love.
I noticed something. In reading Welle's addition. .. "Well Earned Pearls" by Scott Moore viewtopic.php?f=3&t=29070
It is saying something similar to this in the original part of "The Relic."

Re: relic
Good afternoon my friends.
Eric,
Thank you for sharing your poetry again. That first line is a heart stopper
Thank you my friend, because that is not the path I was on this morning... or for the past few days. We never know what cord our words will strike in the hearts of others.
Sandy,
It's almost as if this thread requires you to go back to the beginning, to reread the words, rehear the song, to pick up our derailed train of thoughts, to get back on the track. Thank you for adding Welles' link.
Kim

I envision a person stripped to his core standing in the darkness of his own loneliness. The poem could have gone in any direction after that. You chose the direction of love and gratitude, bringing those of us reading, right along with you!
