Yes, Rod, I think a Ph.D in particle physics or astronomy sure would come in handy to understand all this. I have some basic knowledge on these subjects, so I could comprehend a little of what he presents in these videos. His explanation of the origin of ultimatons (100 of which make up one electron) helped me to glimpse the spiritual underpinnings of the material universe. In the Urantia Book we learn that “The ultimaton, the first measurable form of energy, has Paradise as its nucleus.” (UB, 41:9.1) This one line has thrown me for a loop in trying to piece all this together. How could a subelectronic particle have the center of all creation as its nucleus? Try wrapping your head around that one, it can lead to some interesting places.
I also enjoyed the exploding dark islands of space video. The theory that black holes are actually former stars which have undergone ultimatonic condensation to become a sphere of ultimatons is very fascinating. This would mean that black holes are essentially enormous electrons which absorb all light making them look like holes. I suspect you are correct in saying that we truly are not able to fully understand the universe, since it has spiritual origins and we are material beings. But we can at least get a start on it.
Sandy, there are new photos from this telescope published now. I made an error in my previous post. I called it a near-infrared telescope. It is actually a near-infrared camera installed on the space telescope that takes these awe-inspiring photos. They inspired me to research more into our own galaxy, in both conventional science and in the Urantia Book. I have been struggling to find congruency between the two. It turned out to be a bit of a rabbit hole (or should I say wormhole?). Even the most advanced among us in these areas are only scratching the surface. But it is a worthy use of our time to contemplate these matters and humankind has come a long way in this field. Let’s hope that as we understand more about our universe, we will also come closer to recognizing its Maker.
”Through the realization of truth the appreciation of beauty leads to the sense of the eternal fitness of those things which impinge upon the recognition of divine goodness in Deity relations with all beings; and thus even cosmology leads to the pursuit of divine reality values—to God-consciousness.” (UB, 56:10.
