 More humor in the news ...

Re: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... l-way.html
"Furious father-to-be curses and throws gender reveal balloon down in a tantrum
when he sees pink to learn he's expecting a girl." :baby

The humorous error in his curse: "Son" ;)

 There may be opportunity later for gender change(s)
where "Son" might be back in the recycled curse ...
if shouted by mom! ... about child and/or father.

OMG! Even curses have to adapt to gender change!

 Speaking about humor (in email advertising) ...
"Your prostate is the size of a lemon!"

 A health food addict will ask: "Organic?" ... and be lectured:
"Of course, since it 'relates to or is derived from living matter'
... if you still have one." "Nope! My fruit basket is empty"
comes next reply. "Your gender?" comes next question. :?

"St. John's professor is 'fired after she quoted the N-word while reading from a Mark Twain novel' " :o

 While voicing the N-word is an obvious no-no, voicing the M-word
(man, men, male, masculine) is quickly becoming another no-no:

Re: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... enior.html
"University will drop 'male-centric' terms like 'freshman' and 'senior' - as well as the words 'he and her' "

 Fortunately, the F-word (female, feminine, feline) is still acceptable. 8)
Curiously, if a beep-beep sound can be used in audio to voice over certain words,
what's the equivalent in the voicing of written material? Just say "beep beep"?

OMG! Will wokeness outlaw "The Little Nash Rambler"?

 The Prince effectively highlights the enduring strength of the Constitution (as well as other documents of countries

by the courts (for decades) is what really matters - not the original wording! ;)

"Bitcoin Energy Use Is Far Lower Than Banking System & Gold Industry"

 Say what :?: :!:

This seems a comparison of apples, oranges, and pineapples (or whatever).
Typical complaints about bitcoin energy usage relate to computer generation
of these unique digital numbers - not on electronic trading thereafter.

And gold is a precious metal that continues to exist once mined -
not a digital number that exists only in a computer network! ;)

How much energy is required to evaluate the comparison?
Let's see ... If I take one pineapple away from 6 apples
and half a dozen oranges, can I still make a fruit salad
... of bitcoin energy usage reporting?

 While AI might (will probably) win with intelligence (but not wisdom),

AI can also be programmed for a different evolutionary path ... 8)

which suggests a future Battle of AI to control the planet!
Humans, go with the force that nurtures your survival. ;)

"staples like white bread, butter and chocolate can impair function of immune cells in the gut"

"long-term consumption of a Western-style diet high in fat and sugar impairs the function of immune cells in the gut
in ways that could promote inflammatory bowel disease or increase the risk of intestinal infections." :o

 There's a bit of wiggle room in "long term consumption" (less consumption is better for long term), but there's not much nutritional defense
for white bread and sugar (albeit healthy fats are important). Bottom line: An occasional bite of white bread and some sugar is healthy - even motivational - but dark chocolate should be preferred (in small portions for a petite bottom line). ;)

As for gut health, 9 out of 10 nutritionists stress quality fiber ... daily :!:

"Demi Lovato is non-binary and is changing pronouns to they/them"

"they came to understand their gender identity after spending time doing
'healing and self-reflective work' over the past year."

 With "they" always having meant more than one person
(and "they" is sometimes used for multiple personalities
of the same person), "they" seems a bit confusing
for gender identity - even multiple identities! :?

Consider1: If "they" is gender-defining, then "we" is (are?) too.
Consider2: Performers have fans' permission to challenge rules.
Consider3: A man will not dare answer his wife's question
after this singer's performance: "How did you like them?"
Consider4: None of these are good one person introductions:
(singer) "They is/are going to sing ..."
(singer) "We is/are going to sing ..."
(MC) "Give them a hand!"

 Who knew :?: :!:
Demi Lovato's "they" may be symbolism! ... for an avocado tree or vice versa!
And "dysfunctional" would mean inability to be both male and female.

"Being a drag queen is about being bold, shining bright, and showing a little bit of bravery,
being willing to step outside the box and to dance to our own beat sometimes."

 "Drag queen" always refers to males getting in touch with their inner female (or acting the role),

 The trend to replace "women" with "birthing people" is reasonable, but hints that "birth potential people" is even more accurate ... which suggests that "Uterians" is a good technical term: (from Oxford Languages) "Uterus - the organ in the lower body of a woman or female mammal where offspring are conceived, where they gestate before birth; the womb."

 "Womb" might seem another clue, but only suggests ...
"womben" and "wombettes", especially for traditional "females";
"wombsters", especially for traditional "males" who give birth.

The enticing subtlety of "Uterian" is that it's focused on birthing potential, regardless of the birthing person's sexual identity. This term also makes it easier for a parent to give appropriate advice if their child is or dating a Uterian. Of course, the first lesson about "protection" needs be what term is "politically correct" (in their local community) to describe that "birth potential person". ;)

"Woman who's married to herself says she's still open to finding love and believes
it makes her MORE eligible because she's learned how to deal with her own issues"

 Most (other than self) lovers would not favor a three-way, but others would at least
want to know who was who during any love-making. If that wedding was a legal event,
would the next groom (or whomever) be effectively marrying two people?

The concept hints that undecided transgenders can marry their "alter-ego" gender!

I don't know, Rod. I think in this awakening era it is appropriate. It would be sort of similar to naming a school after Vlad Dracula in Transylvania . (Vlad the Impaler the inspiration for Count Dracula) If your relatives were impaled by this monster would you really want him honoured in any way shape or form? At some level all of these slave owners would have known that this practice was wrong and inhumane. it was inhumane we can't forget that. Do they deserve any acylates? I think it is easier to change the name of this institution and better for future relations between races in our country if these acts of understanding and support are given.

Sandy,

Yes, we humans can easily adapt to change ... if we make the effort :!:

Family/friends' adaptation to a relative's sudden new gender is evidence,
at least at the simpler name change level, as from "Max" to "Maxine"
(but "Max" to "Miranda" is more difficult adaptation).

Apparently, there has to be some yielding (atonement) to be satisfying
to those perceiving offense from current name/term association. ;)

:study: Interestingly, slavery existed millennia before race became an issue :!:

Re: https://www.forbes.com/sites/tomlindsay ... t-slavery/

"it was nearly 9,000 years ago that slavery first appeared, in Mesopotamia (6800 B.C.).
Enemies captured in war were commonly kept by the conquering country as slaves."

"Egyptian pharaohs enslaved the Israelites ... pagan Greeks participated in slavery ...
slavery was an ever-present feature of the Roman world ... African slaves were being sold
to Arab households in a Muslim world ... common in England’s rural, agricultural economy,
with the poor yoking themselves to their landowners through a form of debt bondage ..."

 Considering how much history has to be rewritten to atone for 9,000 years of slavery,
symbolic name changes of modern institutions seems justifiable - even cathartic. 8)

Re: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bible_and_slavery
"Many of the patriarchs portrayed in the Bible were from the upper echelons of society"

This hints that we humans temper wokeness when seeking atonement of slavery
... lest we soon be persuaded to rewrite parts of the Bible :!:

"Diabetes vaccine shows promise at preserving the body’s insulin production"

 Not mentioned in this article about a diabetes Type 1 solution is any reference to excessive carbohydrates
in a person's diet (since more insulin is needed to reduce higher blood sugars). However, producing atypical insulin
(relative to a better diet) is not a good thing long term, especially when reducing carbohydrates is an option. ;)

 Somehow, medications oft seem preferred over dietary changes,
suggesting benefit to the provider as well as to the patient.

 Lab-created food keeps sounding counter-intuitive to natural food, especially when the purpose
is to improve the environment (at the expense of human health long term?). Somehow, this seems
related to the ongoing controversy about lab-created vaccines. :?

 Commemorating a disaster seems counter-intuitive to continuing recovery, especially since it can rekindle
the intense emotions of the disaster more than calm the properly fading memories. However, this document
explains how such commemoration can be helpful:

Re: https://www.samhsa.gov/sites/default/fi ... saries.pdf
"insight into the potential effects of disaster anniversaries on survivors and provide ways for communities to build resilience."

"Phases of Disaster: Pre-Disaster, Impact, Heroic, Honeymoon, Disillusionment, Reconstruction"

 However, such commemoration may not be helpful if Reconstruction is not the primary focus.
In other words, intense emotional return to the earlier phases risks reversal of progress (IMO).
Such commemoration hints of "intervention therapy" where Reconstruction is not occurring.
