"giant Galapagos tortoise impresses keepers at UK zoo after fathering EIGHT endangered baby reptiles at 70-years-old"

"Dirk the tortoise mated with three females he shares a pen with ...
two baby tortoises hatched from eggs laid by 21-year-old female Charlie." :hithere

 Apparently, turtle orgies are common but usually with more participants:

:study: Re: https://www.livescience.com/45354-anima ... rtles.html

" 'The male hangs on for dear life for up to 24 hours,' said Dave Owens, a marine biologist at the College of Charleston in South Carolina.
'By remaining attached to the female, the male can prevent other males from mating with her.

But his competition doesn't take this injustice lightly — they bite his tail and flippers ... repeatedly to try to get him to let go.
After the pair separates, they go on to mate with other sea turtles.' " :love

"Opinion: The hurricane problem Florida could have avoided"

"it is not solely the population magnitude that is important in creating disaster potential, it is how the population and built environment are distributed across the landscape (for example, building along high-risk coastlines) that increases risk for and vulnerability to disaster."

"Tropical storm risk and exposure in Florida has and will continue to rapidly change due to both a changing climate and built-environment landscape ... we need to more strongly consider not only how we build our homes and communities, but also where we build them." ;)

 Apparently, rising seas - worldwide - are increasing risk of coastal residence,
especially where elevation is close to sea level. While construction improves
over the years, flooding is a different challenge :!:

 Apparently, someone else observes the poker hands, causing signal to start the vibration.
Where such a device might be hidden is not so mysterious, suggesting this could be used

 If "it takes one to know one", AI will be able to detect an AI image
(perhaps at the pixel level since paint brush art has not a pixel).

See also: https://www.makeuseof.com/is-ai-generated-art-real-art/
"Should AI-Generated Art Be Considered Real Art?"

"Ultimately, art is classed as the product of imagination, skill, experience, and emotion, usually meant to represent something and for the public to enjoy. But there are human creations that don’t tick any of these boxes and yet are considered art because people made them. They spent time and effort putting their inner worlds onto that canvas, sculpture, or composition. Machine intelligence also puts a lot of work into sorting through tons of data, linking someone’s prompt to datasets, and trying to represent it as best as possible." :duh

"The difference is that the AI is compelled by commands, not an emotional need to express itself."
... and therefore suggests "I think therefore I Am not AI" ( IA <> AI )

Re: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagging

"Nagging, in interpersonal communication, is repetitious behaviour in the form of pestering, hectoring, harassing, or otherwise continuously urging an individual to complete previously discussed requests or act on advice. The word is derived from the Scandinavian nagga, which means 'to gnaw'."

:bana: Today's possible lessons ...

- If you're unmarried and have diabetes,
you should marry a widow/widower whose children
are Pester, Hector, and Harass.

- "Nag a Day" is not a good equestrian center.

- A mistress who nags cures a poor marriage.

- Nag Support groups are probably noisy.

- Nagging may cause AND cure tinnitus.

- Children who nag are called "children".

- National Nag Day ... is every day.

"The parents raising their children without gender"
"... designed to let children pick their own identities later in life."

"Since gender-neutral parenting remains a relatively recent and limited phenomenon, researchers don't yet
know much about its long-term impact, including how it is affecting both children and wider society."

 With "decide later" options, parental role models seem less important!
And anatomical reality hints children need to decide sooner - not later -
in case surgery will be required to complement their chosen identity. :o

And since early brain development depends on lifestyle experience,
identity instability for years suggests adult instability. Conversely,
this suggests identity nurturing by parents is indeed important!
If parents don't have a clue, their children will wander longer. ;)

"Zelle fraud is rising. And banks aren’t coming to the rescue" :(

"Under the federal rule known as Regulation E, banks are technically only liable to cover fraudulent activity when it involves 'unauthorized' transactions. Say, when someone steals your credit card and makes purchases without your permission. But if someone persuades you to send them $500 through a phishing scam, banks consider that 'authorized' and won’t reimburse those funds." :o

 Apparently, the tastier the bait, the greater chance of getting phished.

See also: https://www.cnet.com/personal-finance/b ... our-money/

"A common scam involves an email or text message asking a user to confirm a large, fake Zelle payment. When the user replies that they didn't authorize the transfer, the scammer follows up with a phone call pretending to represent the bank and spoofing the financial institution's phone number. They walk the caller through bogus instructions on how to reverse the unauthorized claims that instead actually transfer money to the criminals."

 Doubtful knowingness, considering how much brain development occurs in the first years AFTER birth.

Re: http://www.urbanchildinstitute.org/why- ... -and-brain

"Genes provide a blueprint for the brain, but a child’s environment and experiences carry out the construction."

"Because experiences have such a great potential to affect brain development, children are especially vulnerable to persistent negative influences during this period. On the other hand, these early years are a window of opportunity for parents, caregivers, and communities: positive early experiences have a huge effect on children’s chances for achievement, success, and happiness."

 Hints that a child’s environment and experiences (including parents, caregivers, communities) can be a cause of gender issues. And even hints that TWO parents with a healthy heterosexual relationship are an important influence!

Re: https://www.makeuseof.com/is-ai-generated-art-real-art/
"Should AI-Generated Art Be Considered Real Art?"

 A good article that declares AI art is indeed real art; not human creativity like the past but still "art" :!:

Related to modern era art expression: I recently saw a tall man (not child) in a store with the back of his pants well below his butt. Since this youthful sagging pants era is ending, this adult stylin' still hints of art expression, albeit post trend, suggesting real art has no limits!

[from the internet] "Fashion is (also) performance art",
therefore sagging pants is stylin' performance. ;)

See also: https://www.cnn.com/2017/10/20/us/saggi ... s-era-over
"The fall of the sagging pants era is upon us" :( :D :? :|

:bana: Apparent bottom line about AI art ...

Human-crafted art is unique and not easily duplicated. AI art, because of pre-existing images that are modified by text input to the AI software, is less difficult to reproduce (just input the same commands). Of course, if the pre-existing image archive keeps changing, the AI art created by these commands may change also (just backup your work) ;)

... which is not to say that AI art is not real art - it's just not long-traditional human creativity (that started with cave paintings?).

 However, the technology parallel to AI is now obvious ...

When paper was invented, most cave artists resisted, saying "What's this 'pay per' thing :?: Pay by the sheet :?:
... when cave walls are free :!: ... much larger :!: ... more natural :!: ... and drawings last thousands of years :!:
... according to the manufacturer."

 A lesson that the past cannot be rewritten to reflect modern lifestyle - Superman was the male hero of that era
and certain of his gender! Even a gay child of this iconic father is not believable. However, a gay, non-related,
Superman wannabe might be possible, but would still be difficult to present sans "swish" (popular stereotype).

 Because human anatomy has not changed after gender-identity became self-perception,
real anatomy needs continuing identification in the records. Two-part classification might work,
with Procreation-Identity and Gender-Identity (the PIGI system). :D

Procreation-Identity reflects the reality that chromosome identification is brain-wiring supported
(why unique anatomical parts still function as designed). ;)

Males have two different kinds of sex chromosomes (XY), and are called the heterogametic sex."
Interestingly, females are the natural "homo" of the species; males, the "hetero".
