Re: Really Valuable Progress Group Message Today!
I just thought it interesting that teaching children to think for themselves is still technically teaching them what to think (though in a more general way), not that I am against it.

Re: Really Valuable Progress Group Message Today!
This made me think of cases where people get answers without asking questions, and the prime example seems to be the public education system. Students are usually told what to think, not how to think, and I think (pun intended) that this is one of the great crimes we commit against children. Edit: I...

Re: Thought Value Levels and Psychic Circles
I believe it's done, though it's not as streamlined as I had hoped. I just used the colors of the rainbow in order to differentiate them. The circles can either be looked at as stacked like pancakes, or existing in concentric circles. This image combines both ideas (it can be flattened). This does n...

Re: Thought Value Levels and Psychic Circles
FYI, after refreshing my knowledge of the circles using the Urantia Book, the essay needs some editing. So what I decided to do now is create a diagram of the circles so that they can be better understood. Can't say when it will be done, but I will start tonight.

Re: Thought Value Levels and Psychic Circles
Empathy and emotions would be included as well, but remember that both of these create specific thoughts. In this case, thoughts are the result being studied. The result is studied in order to see what created it would determine the psychic circle attained. That is one method. The other, mentioned p...

Thought Value Levels and Psychic Circles
This idea of mine is not as detailed as the others, but certainly just as intriguing. In a previous transmission, it was stated that the psychic circles were states of mind that we possessed, and getting to those states and sustaining them required experience and human development. The psychic circl...

Re: The Dimensions of Separation
If you look at Bzutu's description of time bands, on which certain groups of celestials operate, you get an idea of this. It is even more apparent when you remember that objects moving faster experience time at a slower pace. The amount of time experienced by an object is also impacted by gravity, a...

Re: Regressing Thought and Social Behavior
Your post reminded me of a thought I had, where people with authority may feel the need to exercise that authority under the fear that authority will eventually be lost or not respected. It is like one's authority is a form of responsibility on its own, so one must use that authority to serve some k...

Re: The Dimensions of Separation
Yes, how we experience time and space also helps define us, but I am thinking of the time and space the creature inhabits as being what creates a difference in dimensions. It is a rather simple idea that may be too simple to be accurate, but I thought it would be good to make the attempt. I'm just t...

The Dimensions of Separation
Everything is closer than imagined. In order to describe what is outside of our perspective and senses, we like to create artificial separation. It appears frequently in our language. People look at reality as existing in different dimensions, planes, or realms. Yet everything exists together in the...

The Problem with Holidays
In my desire to sometimes swim against the current, I bring to you the problem with holidays. I'm not really staging a war on Christmas here, just analyzing the general holiday from some new perspectives. Individuals should not be pressured to conform to social mores associated with a specific date....

Hi Mael. I believe you will find that just about everyone here is quite sincere in their posts. It's not bad to always be questioning, but don't let that keep you from your own personal discoveries. It can be good for us to occasionally leave our comfort zones.

Regressing Thought and Social Behavior
Human behavior is often viewed as static in the short-run. And when an individual is closely examined by its peers, the logic parameters leading to decision and action appear to be understood. But it is well-known that humans are evolutionary in behavior and progressive in mind as the brain develops...

Re: been at this my whole life
The midwayers (who are kind of like a mix between humans and angels) are usually the ones who get us to notice time prompts. They may plant the idea to look at a clock at a certain time in our subconscious, or they may directly mess with an electronic device so that a certain number appears. Another...

Re: From the Whims of a Nation
(804.17) 71:4.17 Idealism can never survive on an evolving planet if the idealists in each generation permit themselves to be exterminated by the baser orders of humanity. And here is the great test of idealism: Can an advanced society maintain that military preparedness which renders it secure from...

Re: From the Whims of a Nation
Here is an excerpt from the Urantia Book, which I had to edit to be useful to the previous discussion. It is all from Section 5 of Paper 134. Sovereignty is power and it grows by organization. This growth of the organization of political power is good and proper, for it tends to encompass ever-widen...

From the Whims of a Nation
I recently had a discussion on facebook about patriotism, state sovereignty, world government and the end of war. I have a friend who is in the military and is very patriotic. He posted a reminder about Pearl Harbor, and I responded this paraphrased question: “Why do we not honor the dead of other c...

Yes, a lot of us have read it. I finished it last summer, and frequently use it as a reference book. I was raised as a Christian myself, and personally love C.S. Lewis as well (especially the Screwtape Letters). There are a lot of questions I can answer.

I would like to mention that one of the goals of the Magisterial Mission will be promoting and facilitating both physical and social sustainability. This can be done in your own community, even before the Magisterial Son's staff arrive in the flesh. Anyone can create a design team for tackling local...
