The damage caused by Hurricane Helene is biblical. On top of it- there are a lot of people confused wondering why private efforts to bring aid have been thwarted by authorities.
I said a prayer for the people last night- I have never felt such a strong surge of chills and immediate acknowledgment from God. It was immediately overwhelming- I was brought to tears.
I believe God is here- listening, and you can add your prayers for these people and the Life in that region.... And it will make a difference.
Thank you for your prayers-

Re: Pray for the people of the Appalachian region
I am praying for the people who have been hit hard by Hurricane Helene.
For those who do not understand the Southern Appalachian area's geography. My mother and Father grew up in North Carolina and we traveled frequently between TN to NC to visit our relatives who lived in Hickory NC. Much of the area is mountainous with creeks and steep ravines that become raging torrents after 30 inches of rain. It wiped out roads and bridges leaving it difficult if next to impossible to immediately reach some individuals and communities that are badly affected. A brilliant idea by private owners was to take mules loaded with supplies into some of these areas. I honestly don't know how even mules can manage the terrain. But I imagine many rescues and help efforts will be rather dangerous for some time.
It is so shockingly sad. So many people are completely overwhelmed. Imagine a hurricane that can reak as much damage hundreds of miles inland and in a mountainous region to boot, as it did where it made landfall along the coast.
It will take some time to heal what has been done...if ever. They will need lots of help for some time.
