World Elephant Day

I am a day late as World Elephant Day was yesterday. However, I would like to talk about it today, regardless.

As most of us know wild elephant populations are in severe decline around the world due to poaching, habitat loss, and climate changes.
If you would like to help those who work tirelessly to save and help where they can, I would like to offer my support and share information about The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust which operates out of Kenya and whose goal is "to provide Kenya's orphaned elephants, rhinos, and other creatures a wild future" It has been over a decade since Geoff, on a trip to Kenya, toured this facility and with his glowing praise I began my own support for an orphaned elephant named Sonje. Elephant adoptions start for as little as 50 dollars a year and are well worth it as you get reports on their progress. Please if you can, take a look at their website. It is a fascinating place with much to see and enjoy. And perhaps too, consider donating or adopting an orphaned baby and potentially helping to save a species on the brink of extinction, one orphan at a time.
