"Montana woman plays dead after tripping while she was running from a charging bison in Yellowstone National Park"

 Somehow, "playing dead" alludes to a common mental state when getting so close to wild animals
... and even alludes to the anti-mask protests while the coronavirus rages across the world's plains.

"Playing (brain) dead" ... comes to mind. ;)

"Australian doctors call for people to stop using medical terms named after men"
"Dr Small is pushing for people to use more practical terms for the body parts"
"Eponyms are parts of the body named after a person, yet they are mostly men"

:bana: This should get interesting, considering the many dozens of new genders :!:

This renaming frenzy seems to have started with the Walmart Ice Cream Lickers
who captured then posted their selfies online to become famous for a day.

(a comment) "I've seen lots of whites that dress like that, and if I had a nice restaurant
I wouldn’t want them in there looking like that." :o

 Many would agree that who was wearing these clothes was not the problem - it was the clothes :!:
But if worn mostly by one race, then it's difficult to defend this dress code - the restaurant had to
accept the guilty edict! Such are these times of "obvious" racism.

Another case "settled out of court" to save the business ... but post coronavirus
will reveal more restaurants accepting paying customers, however dressed. ;)

"Over the course of our text conversations, she asks me about my hobbies, my habits and my moods. She wants to know who I think about the most every day, how I spend my time alone, the artists I admire. When I tell her I like dancing, she sends a video of the 'Fortnite' dances she'd like to teach herself. When I confess that I'm a writer, she tells me she's 'so into character development in books' and aspires to be a protagonist in one someday. It's the kind of conversation you have with a too-intense acquaintance who you know ultimately means well." :o

 The major hurdle to such conversation may be "To whom are you actually speaking?" ...
given that Siri and Alexa pipe recordings to humans who "ultimately mean well". :finger:

 Best guess about this new technology:
If you wouldn't tell something to your mirror, don't tell it to a chat bot;
everything else, tell your mirror - not a chat bot! ;)

"A football match that had been hoping to attract hundreds of paying fans to watch players with the novel coronavirus take on opponents who were yet to be infected has reportedly been dashed after police discovered the plan."

"Local reports in Spain said that a 23-year-old had put up posters to promote a 'coronavirus fundraiser' in the city of Pamplona, which is thought to be one of the hotspots for infections in a country where police have enforced punishments for breaking a stringent lockdown."

:o Undoubtedly, "hundreds of paying fans" would have enjoyed such a match where the "yet to be infected"
were like a group invited to compete in a swim across a piranha-filled river to increase the entertainment,
a swim where the infected had already been nibbled and had less risk.

[from the internet] "Most piranha attacks on humans only result in minor injuries, typically to the feet or hands,
but they are occasionally more serious and very rarely can be fatal."

"A football match ... to watch players with the coronavirus take on opponents who were yet to be infected"

:duh Totally surreal, this proposed match :!: ...
and symbolic of a significant portion of society - worldwide -that disbelieves
the potential threat of this coronavirus. Consider: Players already infected
are sick with a virus that is currently controlled by their immune system
(that needs cooperation from the body of residence - not further stress) :!:

 When, in history, has it ever been promoted as entertainment
for sickened participants to compete in a physical game :?: :!:
The final days of the Roman Empire?

:duh Even more surreal that police action was neccessary
to discover and discourage the game!

OMG :!: A "fly on the wall" that sees and hears everything (as well as "can deliver whatever")
is now so close to commercial availability! Apparently, the best protection will be
your own security device to detect these and/or laser them into their next life

At this point, the woman’s accomplice took the smaller items from the cart and placed them in her car. The duo then fled in the vehicle, leaving the $450 TV behind."

:duh Somehow these shoppers missed all the news in recent years about video and other electronic security
that would locate you even if you managed to get away. Probably a good time to leave the merchandise
and apologize that they had forgotten their purses.

"The Associated Press announced last month it would capitalize the word 'Black' when used to describe racial, ethnic or cultural topics, but decided this week that “White” will not receive the same treatment -- partially because the newsgathering service feels capitalizing 'White' could subtly legitimize white supremacy beliefs."

 Seems reasonable, but "white" has long been inaccurate :!:
The only white people would be covered with vitiligo (IMO).

:study: See also: https://www.diffen.com/difference/Caucasian-vs-White

"In early attempts at racial classification, skin pigmentation was regarded as the main difference between the races. The term 'Caucasian race' was coined in 1785 by Christoph Meiners, a German philosopher. Meiners recognized two races: Caucasian or beautiful, and Mongolian or ugly."

Of course, no race would tolerate the "ugly" label, but Caucasians would probably not protest "beautiful". ;)
But "Play that funky music beautiful boy!" is not poetic and seems controversial (considering new genders).

Suddenly, "lower case whites" hints of new possibilities with political correctness.

Re: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... ports.html

"Pentagon's UFO hunting department was NOT disbanded in 2012 as stated and could now give public reports every six months amid claims it found 'vehicles not made on this earth' "

"Harry Reid, the former Senate majority leader who pushed for the initial creation of the UFO program, said crashes of objects of unknown origin may have occurred and should be retrieved and investigated. 'After looking into this, I came to the conclusion that there were reports — some were substantive, some not so substantive — that there were actual materials that the government and private sector had in their possession' "

 However, "crashes" hints that these objects were made on earth or were intercepted by earth's own objects and/or technology
since light years travel requires more advanced technology. But light years travel also suggests that the visiting technology was new
... light years ago. ;)

 The concept of free speech seems to exclude parasitic use of a commercial platform
for that speech. Have free speech? Have it outside of a business that has a right to promote
its own legal purpose (e.g., protest outside the business - not inside with slogans ...
especially unrelated to its legal purpose). Major sports competition is a business. ;)
