Thank you for restarting this thread.
Jut so everyone knows, it was my fault it disappeared in the first place. I was trying to move a controversial potentially political post to the moderator forum for discussion and accidentally deleted the entire thread. I am so sorry and I thank Rod from the bottom of my heart for restarting it and being so kind to me.

Drag Queen Story Hour....
Well, that's not something you hear of every day... Yet, as I think about it, where's the harm? LOL I mean transgender and LGBT community individuals are not grown I would think but more so produced at birth. So how are they ( innocent children) going to be indoctrinated into that society ?(which I suspect worries Christian parents on the website you posted above. Of course, perhaps they are just as worried that their own children may actually see beyond the prejudice and form an understanding and acceptance. A Drag Queen ...well...that's a job is it not? They are actors/performers. A fireman giving a talk to children might very well give them a colouring page related to his or her work....so what's the harm... I guess it boils down to whether old prejudices are still allowed to trump the right of individuals, or rather Constitutional justice not marred in religious prejudice is allowed for all these misunderstood individuals.

When you get to know a transgender person...I mean really get to know them...you see that they are still very much like the rest of what some would call straight. They have hopes, dreams, failures heartaches, joys etc... They are beloved children of God just like the rest of us. And if in eternity they are found guilty of sin...Well they won't stand alone will they? I will be right behind them with my own lengthy file of misdeeds, different, but still very much misdeeds.

so I guess the bottom line in my opinion is this...
To those parents who object...It sounds to me like the program is a great success as it has spread to what was it, 21 states. If you disapprove simply don't bring your own children to Drag Queen story hour at the library. You do not speak for every parent/person in the country and that is how it should be!

Would children so young comprehend that "drag queen" refers to men acting as women*
Assuming co-ed participation, what's in a young girl's mind when she cries “Meeee!!!”

* "drag queens" are typically not transgender - acting as women is a performance.

A "Mr. Rogers'" version of "Drag Queen Story Hour" might better handle
these issues of human sexuality, so foreign to such young minds.

Fascinating subtlety about this incident: Children's bond with parents often facilitates candid response, but the same bond is not present with strangers (or authority figures), making disclosure of their fibs unsettling to them ... therefore they maintain their story.

Well, wow, I didn't know that most Drag Queens are not transgender. Learn something nw every day...very interesting. .

When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a jockey...of course this changed when at 10, I was already close to the weight cut-off age. But I do remember my parents buying old high heel shoes and fancy women's clothing at some flea market for us to play in. My friend even had a boa. We spent hours of fun looking pretty "dragish" (without the make up of course and being the wrong sex to actually be a drag Queen impersonating a women) I suspect most of those little girls reacted as I probably would have...wanting to dress up in all those gorgeous clothes and heels etc... Nope, they probably had no concept of the more adult understanding of the act, and why should they at that age?

The article you just posted was quite disturbing... so many children lying and incriminating an innocent person...

Amateur psychology (opinion) ...

"Drag queen" is societal repercussion of the historical expectation - even demand - that there be only man and woman (textbook definition) and no other sexuality. Because men (some? many?) have feminine characteristics (and women have masculine ones), "drag queen" became the "acting out" - even exaggeration - that was publicly acceptable (at least, tolerated). A drag queen performance is (was) easier to accept than true transgender (and homosexuality, bisexuality, etc.), for example, because it's perceived as "performance".

Ignoring the country, retirement age (to receive a pension) should be expected to change as lifespans increase.
Impact and resistance to change is minimized by a slow increase, such as one per year until the goal is reached.

This controversy will continue, but this marketing decision causes reflection on why we buy personal products:

Which comes first (on our shopping list): quality/price or company/logo? When there's competition
offering similar products at a lower price, do we still choose the iconic? Is this because we wish to be seen
wearing the logo or simply depend on the product's continuing quality? This controversy is already suggesting
that many will switch brands and many will buy the product, with both sides focusing on the icon.

Bottom line: Know why we buy a personal product, then go for it ... wherever.

Companies may not prefer my support - my OLD yard work shoes have now been duct taped
3 times a year for 3 years! And I just returned a new pair of work shoes because I knew
that the black Gorilla would not adhere to those rippled soles when it was time.

LOL, I told my kids years ago when they were young teenagers, that if they wish to be an unpaid walking billboard for NIKE , Adidas, etc... they were going to have to foot the, way over the top price for the product, themselves. Perhaps, dolphins can also be trained to participate, towing smaller nets of plastic debris
and dumping them into collection bins ... receiving an appropriate reward each time.

If these were "disposable nets", they would not need to be emptied - just dumped
(dolphins would retrieve a new net after their reward). Of course, these dolphins
would also be trained to collect nets without chaperones.

Perhaps, dolphins can also be trained to participate ...

Since a staff of dolphins are on patrol, a human-attended ocean station (like "space station")
would be complemental and provide nurturing support for the dolphin family of collectors.

Naturally, the dolphin workers would be monitored for performance and to provide
assistance when necessary - even to "mandate" paid vacation time + 401(k) benefits.

This large collection seems to hint that pemphigus (all types) is a modern disease,
perhaps with environmental causes and intensified by overly-processed food (and/or
contaminated with preservatives during packaging and pesticides from the farms
... the bad stuff that upsets the gut's beneficial bacteria).
