:bana: On the other hand ...

Being convinced that Assisted Intelligence is the inevitable future, even the trending Obsolete
will be tempted by reasonable offerings in the AI barnyard. For many probably await
Economical Intelligence (aka "mature", "free", "discounted", "sale priced"). ;)

Already this "Economical Intelligence" + "trending Obsolete" suggests a familiar shopping tune
for inevitable AI sampling: E I E I O ( https://supersimple.com/song/old-macdon ... farm-2018/ )

"Is it safer to take a multivitamin every other day than to take one daily?" :?

"while multivitamins can be beneficial for certain populations, they are not a substitute
for a healthy and balanced diet. Varied diet that includes wide range of nutrient-rich foods
remains the best way to obtain the most essential vitamins and minerals." 8)

 Apparently, need for vitamin/mineral supplementation when "healthy and balanced diet"
exists is best determined by medical testing. However, a healthy human body is tolerant
of unnecessary supplementation and eliminates the excess (i.e., supplements are good
for business and rarely problematic in recommended dose).

:duh ... which leads to today's wordsmith conundrum:

"The meat processor said on Tuesday that it has invested in Protix, a Netherlands-based insect ingredients maker.
Tyson is not only taking a minority stake in the company, but is working alongside it to build a US factory. That facility

Matcha Hummus

Post by Amigoo »

Matcha Hummus

Makes good base for Matcha Mame**
and has distinct Umame taste/texture. ;)

For appetizer or for special ceremony,
serve with steamed sea vegetable(s)
and sagacious shot of Sake (sah keh).

:roll Ingredients:

3 cups water or broth*
1 cup chickpea flour
1 1/2 tbsp matcha tea powder
1 1/2 tsp garlic granules
2 tbsp dried parsley
3/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup black sesame seeds
3 tbsp virgin olive oil

* increase after cooking
to make Umame sauce

 Directions:

In medium sauce pan, heat water until simmering,
then whisk in the pre-mixed dry ingredients.
Allow to cool 5 min., then stir in olive oil.

Notes: These ingredients provide more texture
and complementary flavors for chickpea flour.
For Western palates 'n plates, steamed broccoli
or asparagus is a good "see vegetable". :D

** Matcha Mame (maa may)

For stew with pre-sautéed veggies
and quick-boiled edamame, include:

2 cups shelled edamame
1 1/2 cups chopped carrots
1 1/2 cups chopped celery tops
1 1/2 cups chopped sweet onion
15oz can chicken broth
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp ginger

:study: Quick research about MAK-4 and -5 mentioned in the book
"Freedom from Disease" by Hari Sharma, MD, 1993

(p.35, paraphrased) Natural Vitamin C (from food) is accompanied by up to 100 other nutrients
known as biofllavonoids which assist in the absorption of ascorbic acid (often sold as Vitamin C).
Confirms what nutritionists keeping saying ("get nutrients from food - not supplements").

:study: Re: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1894988/
"MAK-4 and -5 supplemented diet inhibits liver carcinogenesis in mice"

"Free radicals have been implicated in carcinogenesis. Antioxidants, which provide protection against
free radical damage, are present in MAK 4 and MAK-5. The chemical composition of these herbal mixtures
includes alpha tocopherol, beta-carotene, ascorbate, bioflavonoid, catechin, polyphenols, trans resveratrol,
riboflavin, tannic acid, and other low molecular weight substances."

"Inducers of phase II enzymes, present in fruits and vegetables, have been shown to prevent carcinogenesis."

"anticarcinogenic activities of MAK may also be a result of enhanced functioning of the immune system."
(apparent corollary: reduced functioning of the immune system permits cancer) ;)

Hi Rod,
I would like to make the Mixed Veggie Fritata for Mom. I think I am boring her to death with my cooking these days and need to put more thought and interest into what we eat. I like cranberries so looking to try the Pucker Berry Sauce recipe too. (Love that Name  so true...) Only one fruit might pucker you more...Crabapples. It used to be a popular yard tree when I was a kid as it bloomed simply gorgeous in the Spring. The only drawback was in late Summer when the fruit ripened and dropped. It would attract Yellow Jackets. (and they are not a bee to be messed with  )
Many thanks for creating, testing, and sharing most of the recipes you post here. :sunflower:

"More recent researchers have begun to focus on a genetic component to early-onset cancer.
Some have found younger people develop more aggressive tumors than older patients,

 That the immune system is not so robust in young people is a clue!
Maybe their immune systems are more vulnerable to external influences

is helpful (e.g., better diet with fresh food and more fiber). 8)

Hi Rod. :hithere
I would like to try the Appley flatbread this week. I haven't been able to find the oat bran at the small grocery store I have been shopping at, though. (It is close by. I can only leave Mom for a very short time.)
There are other recipes using oat bran that you have shared that I used to enjoy making when I lived in Australia too so I may need to order it from Amazon.
Thank you for the new recipes!
