Annika Martins is one of the young people who is experiencing rise in consciousness that is the result of spiritual growth. She also happens to write about it from a first person perspective that is delightful. Spiritual awakening is a process with joyous moments but many exceedingly difficult passages. Truely they are passages as we can see in hindsight. This little article/prayer is a perfect expression of being in the throes of the struggle part.

I thought the same, Sandy, but I believe that Annika's generation doesn't have the same emotional reaction that you and I do. I think she was just trying to communicate to her generation and it was a little awkward.

Actually I've heard profanity used so much that normally I just associate its use with people who are extremely limited in their means of self expression. I generally avoid profanity as relatively useless simply because there is a whole language out there. A ten word vocabulary, even with multiple inflections is pretty small. Now with that disclaimer out of the way I'm about to write an essay that leverages heavily the use of one profane expression... over and over. Heh heh.

Yep, I understand what you are saying and in fact was thinking along the same lines as I thought about it some more. I'm soooo old!
