Wow, so many others experience this 11:11 phenomena 
Many years ago, before I noticed it happening to me, my mother mentioned that it was happening to her. I started experiencing it a year or two ago.
I don't own a watch, and I hardly look at the clock, but I see 11:11 and 1:11 often. It is happening more frequently this past week... it lasts for about a week or two every few months. I don't know if it is random or if it happens when I'm under more stress.
The past four nights I have woken up at about a quarter to 6 am (I'm usually a very sound sleeper and never wake up during the night) and the past two nights I realized that it is 5:43 when I'm waking up.
