Some things look the same in the mirror...

I was halfway watching a really really bad horror movie last weekend, which was so bad that I shut it off after a few minutes. But before I gave up on the bad movie there was one interesting scene which caught my eye. In the scene a woman was trying to show her husband that there was a hidden door in their hallway, which could only be seen through a mirror. He was at the time in the bathroom shaving, so he was not interested in her crazy ideas and dismissed them, but the camera gave viewers a glimpse of the missing door in the mirror.
The movie switched to the next scene and got painfully bad again, but the scene had caught my eye because I had been cleaning my bedroom that day, and had paid particular attention to the mirror on my dresser, going to far as to pull the dresser off the wall and giving it a good cleaning. It struck me funny that I had been working on a mirror in my old house (built in '56, old for Arizona) so I went into my room and peeked around in the mirror here and there, laughing softly to myself as I found nothing.
But last night, when I woke up in the bed and looked in the mirror, I saw something that looked exactly the same as it always had... the time on my alarm clock - 11:11
So there WAS a door hiding in my mirror! or at least a gateway. Funny how every other time I've seen that clock in the mirror the time has been wrong. Until the first time after I've seen that movie clip.
Love & Light!

The two hemispheres are fundamentally at odds. ~ J. Frank Parnell
A lot of people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch of unconnected incidences and things. They don't realize that there's this like lattice of coincidence that lays on top of everything. I'll Give you an example, show you what I mean. Suppose you thinking about a plate of shrimp. Suddenly somebody will say like plate or shrimp or plate of shrimp out of the blue no explanation. No point in looking for one either. It's all part of a cosmic unconsciousness.
I'll give you another instance. You know the way everybody's into weirdness right now. Books in all the supermarkets about Bermuda triangles, UFO's, how the Mayans invented television. That kind of thing? Well the way I see it it's exactly the same. There ain't no difference between a flying saucer and a time machine. People get so hung up on specifics. They miss out on seeing the whole thing. Take South America for example. In South America thousands of people go missing every year. Nobody knows where go. They just like disappear. But if you think about it for a minute, you realize something. There had to time when there was no people. Right?

Flint,
I don't have to watch the video, I own a copy

Repo man is the only VHS I've still got in my collection besides a M*A*S*H marathon and a copy of Pink Floyds The Wall.
Nice share, thank you! Considering the character it kind of makes us look more insane, but funny as hell.
Here's my fav:

Thanks Sammy always happy to poke, prod or inspire. But we talk about distraction, and we wonder why Jesus said it was easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven. Just by us having computers I think it's safe to say that we're rich by the worlds standards. Besides what other single object besides TV could be any more distracting? All of the gadgets in our lives, they can keep us spinning for days before we find a moment of mindfulness. Whew. I'm learning how to turn that stuff OFF. And I live in the geek realm, so that's saying something.
I've begun my meditation practice, and I can feel energy shifting already. Actually I'm fairly certain the events preceding this practice were needed to clear enough old energy out for me to focus through even one meditation. Harsher/blunt version; I was so messed up and dysfunctional from old unresolved trauma that I was incapable of reaching a meditative state.
We shall see what becomes of this. But I'm looking in the mirror now, and it's staring-contest time.
What was that about hats? joking!

Hey Shaku and friends... some pretty cool thoughts swirling around this thread... enjoyed the URls.
I just watched the trailer for repo man. I never saw it before but at the end something jumped right out at me.
“That’ why I don’t drive, see?”
“You don’t know how to drive!”
“I don’t want to know how. I don’t want to learn, see?” The more you drive the less intelligent you are.”
And Sammy said it hit too close to home for her...Geez... There you have it! I must be the smartest person on the planet!
It seems like Petra has been seeing an elevated sense of what you discribed Flint. She would think or say a word or phrase and it would then be said on TV, radio or seen in the papers. This has been happening over and over again. It happens to me but not words...with people.
In South America thousands of people go missing every year. Nobody knows where go. They just like disappear.
I didn’t know that!
I'm still working on my own distractions. I am thinking this may be a continuous kind of thing because sometimes I add to the "kitty" things to replace those I have thankfully lost.

I'm clearing out some of the inner clutter there...Feels really good to this "pack rat"!!
Hugs,
Sandy

Repo Man is a classic
And MPFC's "The Meaning of Life" is another great one Shaku.
The first time you see Repo Man as a comedy, but realistically, there is something going on in the movie that a lot of people miss.
It's a movie about nuclear war that is camouflaged by the ideals of how to live life.
The guy, Miller who is talking about the plate of shrimp is more like a shaman/philosopher and shares his humorous outlook on life by being a non participant. He observes life, but he is the only Repo Man who does not repo cars. He doesn't follow the crowd, he doesn't want to because when you are cattle/sheep you become less intelligent. It would take a large essay to break the movie all down but knowing that all the repo men are named after beers, Bud, Oly(Olympia), Lite, Miller, Lagarto, Plettschner...
Bud is the 1950's old western manifest destiny ideal... Go west - live by the code (In his case, the repo code.) He makes lots of quotes thought the movie like, I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees, or C'mon kid, lets go get a drink...
Lite's philosophies never fail until Otto tries to apply them. Lite is an expert on life who also lives by the code but lightly...
Leila is Otto's girlfriend in the movie (Leyla/Layla... dark haired beauty... Princess of the Ottoman's court... a popular Muslim name at one time.) Born at night... she offers nothing to Otto other than a push for him to chose a direction in his life.
Anyway, if you haven't seen it, it is a cult classic.
