Side effects of meditation?

Does anybody know if meditation can cause your blood sugar to drop?

Every time I meditate, I vibrate (which I usually attribute to connection and energy flow) - BUT, I also always "wake up" shakey and need to binge eat. It had never occurred to me until today that perhaps something during meditation is causing my blood sugar to drop. Any thoughts?

Perhaps a visit to the doctor about your overall physical state would help you out, and let them know that you meditate at such and such times of the day? They might have some insight concerning that. I've read that the body often does different things at different times of the day. Maybe you can also note what you do prior to meditating? I hope you can find out.

Hi Sammy, I had the same thing when I started, I was coming out of meditation really hungry, not the shaking part though.
I've found eating before meditating seems to curb that.

Thank's guys (hehehe and gals) - I think I will be eating something high in protein before I meditate today to see if that fixes the issue.

Dear Sammy,
I don't know what to tell you about blood sugar levels, all I know is that I was able to get off high blood pressure medication.

Kim

Thank you Kim.

I ate a chicken caesar salad prior to meditating today. The vibrating feeling was less intense and I didn't need to binge eat when I got up. I'll continue doing this for a while to see if I can reproduce the results.

Sounds like it might be a sugar level thing then! Glad to hear the first attempt has worked, I hope it will yield the same results and give you less problems.

That's interesting Sammy. Sometimes I feel little off after meditation too, but I've always attributed it to the need to ground myself. Funny, I always use food and TV to do just that. I had never considered what my blood sugar may be doing. Thanks...
