Can angels/midwayers/spirits set off smoke detectors? I've read on this forum about them turning off street lights as you pass them(this happens to my sister a lot). In the past two weeks my smoke detector has gone off twice by itself... both times being at night when nobody is cooking or any possible smoke to set it off. I don't know why an angel would set off the smoke detector, however I'm open to the idea that it could be. I live with my grandmother and she asked me if I had been smoking cigarettes because she smelled it strongly in her room one night. I don't smoke and nobody else in the house smokes. The day after she asked me that is when the smoke detector went off the first time. The smoke detectors went off again last night... and three days ago she smelled the cigarette smoke again.

Yeah I had that, and suspected it was midwayers. Because there was no reason for it to beep. I know they do when the battery is flat, but they then keep on beeping every few hours.
