Re: https://www.yahoo.com/news/research-fin ... 00019.html
"reducing consumption of just one food item would be like taking 8 million cars off the road"

"The study found that someone with a high-meat diet accounted for about 22.58 pounds worth
of carbon dioxide production per day, while someone with a low-meat diet would account for
about 11.84 pounds worth. A vegan would account for about 5.45 pounds on average."

 Is this suggesting that Meat Mate pairing is best (vegan pairs with meat eater
to reduce couple's average meat consumption)? Instead of a Marriage License,
the pair receive a Meat Mate License with gender-identities unimportant.

 Co-habitation is easiest but not required as long as records are kept
to document meat consumption. LOL: A Meat Mates' Ménage à Trois
should be possible, requiring that at least one person is the vegan. :D

"simple hack that will power up your smartphone 4 times faster and bring the battery to 90 percent
in just one and a half hours. The trick lies in settings - just toggle to Airplane Mode when charging.
When your phone is in Airplane Mode, it stops using cellular, Bluetooth, radio, and Wi-Fi features
that constantly drain your battery in the background." :(

 This hints that Airplane Mode turns off cellphone tracking
for your "More privacy, please!" moments. 8)

It may take longer for the phone to reconnect to the network
once you're ready for less privacy.

"Americans could soon be told to limit themselves to just two beers per WEEK"

"In the past, studies suggested there may be some benefits to drinking — with resveratrol in red wine
linked to a reduced risk of cancer and improved heart health. In more recent years, the research has gone
the other way, warning even consuming a small amount of alcohol is dangerous for health." :o

 In retirement lifestyle with social isolation and serious penny-pinchin', two beers per week
could make a retiree an alcoholic ... when their average is two beers per year (typically,
Thanksgiving and Christmas ... just to be social ... if free at these parties). Olé :!:

 Humor in the news ...

An intriguing subtlety of the never-ending news about a "virus that doesn't exist"
("has not been isolated in a lab") is that this may be the world's first eVirus (ethereal,
doesn't exist but causes disease like a virus). China's non-reporting of hospitalizations
and deaths after discontinuing restrictions complements the concept of an eVirus! 8)

Apparently, "smoke & mirrors" (but not related to worldwide fires).
Interestingly, an eMask should make a profitable new medical device!
(package just contains erasable marker and mask pattern)

:sunflower: About natural remedies ...

Re: https://www.yalemedicine.org/news/covid ... rus-strain
"EG.5 tends to infect the upper respiratory tract, causing a runny nose, sore throat, and other cold-like symptoms,
as opposed to lower respiratory tract symptoms ... But people 65 or older or who have a weak immune system
are at higher risk of it traveling to the lower respiratory tract, causing severe illness."

 Immediately reducing upper respiratory symptoms (especially in nose, mouth, throat) seems key
to preventing spread to lower respiratory tract. Nasal drainage into the throat may be a common pathway
since the nose tries to discard disease particles. Not a problem when the particles go to the stomach
where stomach acid kills them, but particles that replicate in the upper throat can be inhaled. :(

"16 Home Remedies for Sore Throat" (use soon after exposure or at first sign of sore throat)
During height of a disease, just being out in public increases probability of exposure :!:

Some people ;) prefer Home Remedy 17 (slice of fresh ginger as lozenge but not swallowed).
Slight stinging in mouth and throat often indicates tissues needing attention. 8)

:bana: About AI's black box wizardry ...

Re: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/compani ... r-AA1fRrT2

"More than 2 million people in the Philippines perform this type of 'crowdwork,' according to informal government estimates, as part of AI’s vast underbelly. While AI is often thought of as human-free machine learning, the technology actually relies on the labor-intensive efforts of a workforce spread across much of the Global South"

"In dingy internet cafes, jam-packed office spaces or at home, they annotate the masses of data that American companies need to train their artificial intelligence models. The workers differentiate pedestrians from palm trees in videos used to develop the algorithms for automated driving; they label images so AI can generate representations of politicians and celebrities; they edit chunks of text to ensure language models like ChatGPT don’t churn out gibberish."

 Apparently, AI learns best when thousands of humans (annotators) instruct it data bit by data bit,
suggesting "I Am AI" would be a popular T-shirt (poster, mug, whatever) in these sweatshops.

"class-action lawsuit alleges that Burger King advertises it's Whoppers to be larger than they actually are"

 Relative to the box of fries in the photo, that Whopper doesn't look so big :!:
(the box of fries should look smaller next to a "whopper" burger). Besides,
"whopper" often refers to "a gross or blatant lie" (truth in advertising?)

 Maybe fast food customers are larger than in the past,
now perceiving less value for their Whopper meal. :?

Ulimately, "whopper" is a term relative to something else -
apparently, the something else has changed. ;)

"Toronto realtor Sophie Bokelmann has revealed she ordered Tuna Tartare

(a comment) "Just another made up story desperate for attention."

 Might be true, considering that even a can of food

and tuna cans easily cause cuts! Also, the product
would not be revealed to limit competition ...
and DIY from your own groceries.

 Traditional 'open book' testing requires a human to select appropriate material from a text

to answer the question and the student records that answer as their own).

"Breast cancer was the most commonly diagnosed over the three decades. But the cancers that rose the fastest
were of the nasopharynx, where the back of the nose meets the top of the throat, and prostate."

 Makes sense, especially since the nose discards/drips toxins into the throat during bedtime.
Fresh ginger, crushed into water then sipped for soothing relief, may cause slight stinging sensation
in the nasopharynx if these tissues are infected/inflamed.

:study: Re: https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/asteroid-watch
"Asteroid Watch: Keeping an Eye on Near-Earth Objects"

"Near-Earth objects are asteroids and comets with orbits that bring them to within 120 million miles (195 million kilometers) of the Sun, which means they can circulate through the Earth’s orbital neighborhood. Most near-Earth objects are asteroids that range in size from about 10 feet (a few meters) to nearly 25 miles (40 kilometers) across."

 "10 feet" well identifies UFO objects that could be tracked arriving/departing planet Earth. No such evidence that UFOs are alien spacecraft should persuade us that these things, beings, and phenomena are of local planet creation! Also, lights on such spacecraft would be "previous centuries" technology, of less importance to interplanetary travel. This hints that UFO lights are for the benefit of earth's humans and give evidence of local planet creation, IMO. ;)

This perspective becomes more important as new technology + AI becomes available
to "prove" the existence (therefore threat, etc.) of space aliens.

 Apparently, the booking was for the benefit of his team, despite this media spin
that Gates spent frivolously. And Gates probably understood that he would have to be
the guest of honor for the group to receive a meal worthy of the price. ;)

"Job interview 'coffee cup test' used by corporate executive goes viral"

"In the 16-minute podcast episode titled, 'The Secret Job Interviewing Hack to Recruit the Right Staff,'
Innes explained that he escorts job interview candidates to an office kitchen and offers them a cup of coffee
or another beverage before he moves on to questions. Candidates who don’t offer to take their empty cups
back to the kitchen at the end of their interview are unlikely to get a job offer from Innes." :(

 Logically, this hints that ...
1. A candidate who offers to take their cup back, wash it, and offer to wash the interviewer's cup (or feet) easily gets the job!
2. A successful candidate can be encouraged later to work harder and longer hours without additional compensation.
3. The kitchen is where this employee will work harder and longer hours without additional compensation.
4. This company has too many job applicants and needs an arbitrary way to disqualify many of them.
5. I'll need another cuppa to invent more hints (and will wash it later).
