"Hara Hachi Bu - Stop eating when you are 80% full.
With all the talk about calorie restriction, this notion is often hard to incorporate into your life,
especially in a 'clean your plate' culture. With hara hachi bu, the philosophy is that you should
still be a little hungry when you push the plate away."

Interesting concept, this 80% ...
Perhaps, identify the average meal where you're full (sufficiently to stop eating),
then next time, eat 80% of that

Interesting association, this 80% ...
80% of a meal (especially carbohydrates) may lessen the insulin requirement
along with decreasing the less beneficial by-products of digestion.

Interesting portion, this 80% ...
No, 80% of a tub of ice cream, multi-serving package of chips/cookies, etc.,
is not the Hara Hachi Bu notion.

Analysis: The goal should be to eat the nutrition needed for your day's activities
and not be constrained by an arbitrary rule of thumb. However, the 80% guideline
might help the overweights reduce to their ideal weight. As for what foods to eat,
evolution also determines what foods are beneficial to certain populations.
