In these financially troubling times, long distance driving alone might "advertise" one's vulnerability.
Personal protection (of different kinds) seems necessary planning! Even forwarding a cell phone
photo to someone of a suspicious person/event might help minimize the unfolding risk ...
or at least help identify a suspect later.

Entrepreneur Alert: An obvious camera in a car might be effective personal protection.
And would require ability to transmit the photo/video immediately if necessary.
A removable wired (or WiFi) camera lens on driver's window comes to mind!
