Dear Willow,

Welcome to our site.

I had to split off your post, and make it a new thread, because you are talking about a different book. Not to worry.

love,
Geoff.

Hello Willow,

Welcome to the board :hithere

I have read all of James' books and I have to admit that I preferred the first over the rest of them. I think James really picked up on some insights that resonated with me on a level that I had not experienced but after his first book I kind of felt like the others were a bit of a stretch. I also felt like a few of his characters kind of started to contradict themselves, especially the Will character. That being said, I do like his thoughts on holding the vision and prayer fields as a way of healing through intention but I just don't see his vision that we will all vibrate so strongly that we will be able to use our energy to transcend physical form when we are born into human form. There is a purpose for human form and if we've gotten to the point of transcending it we probably don't really need to be here anymore. We will have learned what we needed to learn. But that is just my opinion and to some degree his vision sounds a bit similar to some of the visions I have heard expressed here so I guess I could percieve that it will happen one day but I kind of felt like he was thinking it was going to happen really soon and I don't think the world is ready for that level. Anyways, his insights on maintaining positive energy are very inspiring. I do recommend his books but I would alert everyone to read the books for the insights, which are wonderful, and not necessarily for the plot line. James has great insights but he's maybe not the most compelling story teller around. But definitely worth the read.

Hello All,

The series of books is a narrative story of the path the main character takes to learn the insights, to enlightenment. For those of you interested in the Celestine books here is a rundown of the insights. If you find them of interest you might enjoy the books. The Celestine Prophecy, The Tenth Insight, and The Secret of Shambhala.

The Insights

(1) A Critical Mass
A new spiritual awakening is occurring in human
culture, an awakening brought about by a critical mass
of individuals who experience their lives as a
spiritual unfolding, a journey in which we are led
forward by mysterious coincidences.

(2) The Longer Now
This awakening represents the creation of a new, more
complete worldview, which replaces a
five-hundred- year-old preoccupation with secular
survival and comfort. While this technological
preoccupation was an important step, our awakening to
life's coincidences is opening us up to the real
purpose of human life on this planet, and the real
nature of our universe.

(3) A Matter of Energy
We now experience that we live not in a material
universe, but in a universe of dynamic energy.
Everything extant is a field of sacred energy that we
can sense and intuit. Moreover, we humans can project
our energy by focusing our attention in the desired
direction... where attention goes, energy
flows...influencing other energy systems and
increasing the pace of coincidences in our lives.

(4) The Struggle for Power
Too often humans cut themselves off from the greater
source of this energy and so feel weak and insecure.
To gain energy we tend to manipulate or force others
to give us attention and thus energy. When we
successfully dominate others in this way, we feel more
powerful, but they are left weakened and often fight
back. Competition for scarce, human energy is the
cause of all conflict between people.

(5) The Message of the Mystics
Insecurity and violence ends when we experience an
inner connection with divine energy within, a
connection described by mystics of all traditions. A
sense of lightness - buoyancy - along with the
constant sensation of love are measures of this
connection. If these measures are present, the
connection is real. If not, it is only pretended.

(6) Clearing the Past
The more we stay connected, the more we are acutely
aware of those times when we lose connection, usually
when we are under stress. In these times, we can see
our own particular way of stealing energy from others.
The four main "control drama" roles that people use
are "Poor Me", "Aloof", "Interrogator" and
"Intimidator" . Once our manipulations are brought to
personal awareness, our connection becomes more
constant and we can discover our own growth path in
life, and our spiritual mission - the personal way we
can contribute to the world.

(7) Engaging the Flow
Knowing our personal mission further enhances the flow
of mysterious coincidences as we are guided toward our
destinies. First we have a question; then dreams,
daydreams, and intuitions lead us towards the answers,
which usually are synchronistically provided by the
wisdom of another human being.

(8) The Interpersonal Ethic
We can increase the frequency of guiding coincidences
by uplifting every person that comes into our lives.
Care must be taken not to lose our inner connection in
romantic relationships. Uplifting others is especially
effective in groups where each member can feel energy
of all the others. With children it is extremely
important for their early security and growth. By
seeing the beauty in every face, we lift others into
their wisest self, and increase the chances of hearing
a synchronistic message.

(9) The Emerging Culture
As we all evolve toward the best completion of our
spiritual missions, the technological means of
survival will be fully automated as humans focus
instead on synchronistic growth. Such growth will move
humans into higher energy states, ultimately
transforming our bodies into spiritual form and
uniting this dimension of existence with the
after-life dimension, ending the cycle of birth and
death.

(10) Holding the Vision
The Tenth Insight is the realization that throughout
history human beings have been unconsciously
struggling to implement this lived spirituality on
Earth. Each of us comes here on assignment, and as we
pull this understanding into consciousness, we can
remember a fuller birth vision of what we wanted to
accomplish with our lives. Further we can remember a
common world vision of how we will all work together
to create a new spiritual culture. We know that our
challenge is to hold this vision with intention and
prayer everyday.

(11) Extending Prayer Fields
The Eleventh Insight is the precise method through
which we hold the vision. For centuries, religious
scriptures, poems, and philosophies have pointed to a
latent power of mind within all of us that
mysteriously helps to affect what occurs in the
future. It has been called faith power, positive
thinking, and the power of prayer. We are now taking
this power seriously enough to bring a fuller
knowledge of it into public awareness. We are finding
that this prayer power is a field of intention, which
moves out from us and can be extended and
strengthened, especially when we connect with others
in a common vision. This is the power through which we
hold the vision of a spiritual world and build the
energy in ourselves and in others to make this vision
a reality.

(12) The Path to Unity
The Celestine Vision, emerging out there by any name,
is the new synthesis coming into view. It spells out a
new life image of ourselves that sees our bodies as an
energetic whole, and calling for a new
nutrition-oriented medicine. It assumes an inner
intuition that can guide our decision-making and
synchronistically move each of us into a more inspired
and productive economic niche, easing poverty, and
pushing ethical values. And most of all, it sees
evolutionary process for what it is: a march toward a
perfection of human culture by consciously working
through polar opposites until we can take the best
aspects of both extremes and mold them into something
that both sides can accept.

Secret Of Shambhala

Post by Willow »

Hello everyone,
Sorry about that Geoff, will hopefully get it right the next time.
Michelle thankyou for your informative response, i also have a very similar opinion to you, i did enjoy reading it, as i do all his books, I find them to be almost like a suspense novel really. I also agree with the prayer fields and keeping our energies positive, sometimes much easier said than done, though, I guess the challenge is in the learning process.
I am always open to recommended reads, please feel free to let me know, if anything comes to mind, that you may have found interesting, that will be great thanks.

Take care everyone

Secret Of Shambhala

Hello All,

If you are interested in checking out the author's website it is,

http://www.celestinevision.com

You can check out his books there and what I really like is he does this bi-week phone in prayer vigil. I believe it gets filled up pretty quick but if you can't get through the call you can always do a meditation on your own. But I like what he is doing. It is much like the FTG but on a regular basis. There is a section on the link about that will give you more information on the prayer call.

Sincerely,
Michelle

PS: Willow I sent you a PM with some book suggestions.

Dear Michelle,
but I just don't see his vision that we will all vibrate so strongly that we will be able to use our energy to transcend physical form when we are born into human form. There is a purpose for human form and if we've gotten to the point of transcending it we probably don't really need to be here anymore.
Yes I agree with you on that. I think he gets the cart before the horse. By that I mean I suspect that it may well be the case that "vibration" is all that separates us from the next realm, because we do know that our material here can be transported into the next realm and brought back, but our human form here, is not the same as our morontia form in the next, so its definately not a case of simply re-materialising. For one thing Morontia bodies weigh almost nothing.

So what I am saying is that if we are evolved enough, we may well be able to make that trip without death, and indeed the Urantia book says as much. But it does not say that its just a case of changing the frequency.

love,
Geoff.

Secret Of Shambhala

Hello Geoff,

Maybe I gave the wrong impression about the book. The series is really about the main character's journey of self discovery and enlightenment. I'm sure for time purposes his journey was quicker than most but he did go through an evolution process. It wasn't like he just started vibrating at a higher frequency all of a sudden. He learned things along the way before he was capable of the feat. That being said I guess I am still a little skeptical about it all. But that is just me. I am no expert to say it is not possible.

Sincerely,
Michelle
