Midwayer Chief Bzutu (ABC-22).
Subject: “Joan of Arc.”
Received by George Barnard.
Bzutu: “It is my observation, and it is my end-conclusion that you are, although gradually, well on your way to regularly having your breakfast by eight PM (the Midwayer is joking). However, as I mentioned before, this (4 to 5 PM) is a suitable time for a discussion. I would like to see from you a better scheduling for this, to in the end analysis come up with better production and a little time saved here and there.
“I will now try to answer your question. So often have we discussed our work with our marvelous helper, Joan of Arc. In working with her, because of her background, because of her involvement, because of her powerful religious beliefs, it was necessary for us to project the image of one of the Catholic saints. In reality they were the Midwayers who then claimed, and still do, that she was one of our most successful co-workers.
“I am suggesting that at some time in the near future she may well be available to you for an in depth discussion. However at this point I want to make something adamantly clear: The involvement of Joan of Arc, and the grand task she carried through with was ordered from on High, as were many, many tasks prior to the resolution (adjudication) of the Lucifer rebellion. However, it cannot be said at any time that the Midwayers turned their backs on their coworker. We, your planetary helpers, are ordered to carry out certain tasks. That we do.
“It is within our ability to unlock cell doors. It is within our ability to spirit individuals away. In fact, there is little we can not do. However, we need to be ordered into action. We cannot always count on being called upon. We cannot always count on being provided with the what-ifs, the alternatives, but we can make clear that we had no orders to rescue her. And yet, in all you do, in all you project, they must be your decisions to forge ahead with any project at all in the knowledge that we will assist you wherever and whenever we can, given the proviso such is meant to be. We cannot always intervene if on High does not allow us to act.
“Do organize your time more accurately, more precisely. Go out from the point of view that whatever you shall touch will be brought to success. This is Midwayer Chief Bzutu. I thank you for your time and for noting my prompts. Adieu.”
Notes: The suggestion was made that the Midwayers could have saved Joan of Arc from being burnt at the stake. We hope to hear from the Maid of Orleans without the connection mysteriously being broken as it did a few months ago.
