Hi Jon, I hope you see this thread. Here's the website Casey recommended for me. I am quite impressed by their usefulness.
https://www.blockbluelight.com/
You might find the scientific research portion of their site interesting:

I do find the website a little annoying because it is really set up to get you to purchase right away and then keep you as a recurring customer. But what business doesn't want that? The products are good.
A tad expensive, but 0% interest with installment options is also nice.

Morning Eric,
Could you explain a little more about why this is helpful and important, and why Cassey rcecomends it?

Re: Protecting Eyes from Screens and Artificial Light
Hi Sandy
My boss installed new lights at work, they were so noticeably different I had almost given myself a panic attack. Thinking I had to sit in this environment for 8+ hours a day 5 days a week was driving me crazy. It was obnoxiously bright and artificial. I was having a hard time focus on customers and starting to get headaches after a couple hours. I had learned the benefits of minimizing blue light exposure before bed time because our addictions to screens- cellphones and laptops is not natural and can disrupt our sleep.
Around the same time Casey joined our meditation group with these yellow lenses on her glasses. I was intrigued, told her what was going on with me at work, and she made the recommendation. You might enjoy her testimony here:

For me, the lenses helped calm me down and took away my headaches.
Fortunately, we later realized these new LEDS came with a dimmer built into the panel and we have since switched them form maximum brightness to a satisfying medium power. All is well here, but I still like to wear the blue blockers if I am studying spanish on my phone or spending longer than normal time on my computer. Protecting your eyes from prolonged screen time has its benefits.
I hope this helps! I started this thread because Jon said he may be interested in a pair.

Re: Protecting Eyes from Screens and Artificial Light
Thanks for taking the time to explain all that, Eric. I was wondering because my daughter-in-law reads downloaded books late into the evening on her Kindle or online...I'm not sure now. She has a terrible time sleeping and while I'd like to suggest it might help to not read so late in the evening. Her reading is a helpful side job she is participating in for budding authors. I am hoping that might help. I'll mention these lenses to my son. Her insomnia is probably not related to the blue light, as she is pretty tech-savvy but it doesn't hurt to ask or look into it should it be a possibility.

Something tells me she might benefit from the amber lenses.

Re: Protecting Eyes from Screens and Artificial Light
I researched into this awhile ago. From what I can gather, it’s about how our brains are wired. Blue is a colour associated with daytime since the sky is blue. Red light is associated with night time because those are hues associated with fire which was our only light in the night time for millennia. So the blue light is stimulating and wakes us up and red light is calming and helps us go to sleep.
The problem is that we are now being bombarded with blue light from artificial sources. And this is having adverse effects on people because it is overstimulating our brains. Personal testimonies seem to be the bottom line in this research though since much of the science is still new and subjective.
Thanks for sharing, Eric!

Re: Protecting Eyes from Screens and Artificial Light
Thanks, Jon,
That was very helpful! I hope to connect with my daughter-in-law today. I usually read a book the old-fashioned way and so I drift off after a page or two...unless, of course, it's a page-turner!
Then all bets are off on my attitude the following morning.
