hey rod, and others
hope you guys get to enjoy the eclipse tomorrow.
we're fortunate in texas, i'm right at 90% near the full effect.
i can't tell but i think i'm already beginning to experience some of the internal happenings.
12:30PM central rod, is our supposed window. i don't have any special shades but i may still have to take a peek with the ol green peepers

Re: solar eclipse
Hello Eric and Rod,
Did you two Texans get to see the eclipse? Hope you didn't injure your green peepers Eric.
I think the next one is in April, right? …something to look forward to.
You know what I would love to see before I leave this planet... the Northern lights..oh, and the Giant Sequoias/Redwoods
someday, maybe...
xxSandy

Re: solar eclipse
hi sandy,
yes the lighting was beautiful and the shadows cast on our fence or on the stones around me all had the moon in the sun. i'll get on my phone later and try to attach the rocks so you can see what i'm talking about. maybe i can upload the video too, that'd be great.
northern lights sound lovely! whoa and the giant redwoods.
i'm 35 and i've never really left houston(except for family travels here and there). i'm about as sheltered and naive to, "cool nature things" as it gets. but dang those trees look amazing.
thanks for tuning in here and adding your thoughts. =)

Re: solar eclipse
hi sandy -:] ~
you must have been on my mind this morning, or in the aether, reminding me of my uploading mission!
here it is. photos and video taken with a not-so-smart phone, quality is poor. but hopefully you can see the play of light and the shadows as described earlier:
https://rumble.com/v3pno6p-light-and-shadow.html
https://rumble.com/v3pnp06-tree-and-shadow.html
i *think* all those circles of light with the black in the middle is actually a reflection of the eclipse! i've never seen the shadows like that, and the sky had its own filter at that time.

Re: solar eclipse
Actually, Eric, I think this is a magical photo with all those reflections of the eclipse on everything...I love it!
Thank you for remembering. I am so sorry I am slow in responding. I am in Ohio right now visiting with my children and grandchildren before my parents come home permanently. It is great seeing Ohio in its fall colors.
Life is good.
xxSandy
