While "all of the above" may be the real cause of death, "lack of oxygen" was the prosecution focus and helped justify the jury's conviction. Although the prosecution argued that Floyd's fentanyl was not sufficient to cause death, fentanyl is known to slow rate and depth of breathing. And this would intensify the effect of a neck restraint! Interestingly, that 17 years of medical examination experience is now questioned
