:bana: Regarding Urantia21 (paraphrased from today's email explanation) ...

"A Secondary Work, created privately for future readers, some of the upcoming generation who may not identify with God or religion or gender." is how Urantia21 can be explained with few words, sidestepping any controversy. That the original Urantia Book well-identifies with God, religion, and gender can be an optional comment with appropriate link(s) to that text. ;)

Re: https://americanmilitarynews.com/2020/0 ... -and-more/

 Suddenly, with gender neutrality, "Brotherhood of Man and Fatherhood of God" seems at risk! And so it is ...

Urantia Book (12:7.8 )

"The Fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man present the paradox of the part and the whole on the level of personality. God loves each individual as an individual child in the heavenly family. Yet God thus loves every individual; he is no respecter of persons, and the universality of his love brings into being a relationship of the whole, the universal brotherhood."

Urantia21

"The Universal Parent and the family of mortals present the paradox of the part and the whole on the level of personality. The Universal Parent loves each individual as an individual child in the spiritual family. Yet the Creator loves every individual, is no respecter of persons, and the universality of the Creator’s love brings into being a relationship of the whole, the universal family."

Opinion: It's too early in the millennium to cast "Brotherhood of Man and Fatherhood of God" into the murky sea of gender neutrality.

 It's time to shelve the eugenics controversy (according to the interplay of these two paragraphs):

Paragraph 64:6.32 is good counterpoint to the belief that the UB supports eugenics. And the "interest in eugenics" of 111:4.4 likely refers to understanding the racial amalgamation of 64:6.32, planned by the life carriers and anticipated later upstep by the Adamic contribution:

"Stronger and better races are to be had from the interbreeding of diverse peoples when these different races are carriers of superior inheritance factors. And the Urantia races would have benefited by such an early amalgamation provided such a conjoint people could have been subsequently effectively upstepped by a thoroughgoing admixture with the superior Adamic stock. The attempt to execute such an experiment on Urantia under present racial conditions would be highly disastrous." (64:6.32)

"The inner and the outer worlds have a different set of values. Any civilization is in jeopardy when three quarters of its youth enter materialistic professions and devote themselves to the pursuit of the sensory activities of the outer world. Civilization is in danger when youth neglect to interest themselves in ethics, sociology, eugenics, philosophy, the fine arts, religion, and cosmology." (111:4.4)

 Tonight's contemplation ...

While the zillions of social/commercial contact points may diffuse or distort information, that same network may permit the Spirit of Truth (et al.) to prevail ... and will alert the diligent info shopper when the time is right. Internet search engines (and their algorithms) still seem good starting points, but that info needs to be confirmed somehow. :?

 When in doubt about information, go to your local, internet-savvy kiosk
(internet surfer dude or dudette who can "hang ten" fingers on the keyboard).

Filtering information (while the human brain is still better than advanced AI) will likely become a job skill worthy of professional status. Hang a shingle when qualified ... in fact start a local AI Know franchise and coordinate with the worldwide AI AI's.

"The great event of this glacial period was the evolution of primitive man. Slightly to the west of India, on land now under water and among the offspring of Asiatic migrants of the older North American lemur types, the dawn mammals suddenly appeared. These small animals walked mostly on their hind legs, and they possessed large brains in proportion to their size and in comparison with the brains of other animals. In the seventieth generation of this order of life a new and higher group of animals suddenly differentiated.

These new mid-mammals — almost twice the size and height of their ancestors and possessing proportionately increased brain power — had only well established themselves when the Primates, the third vital mutation, suddenly appeared. (At this same time, a retrograde development within the mid-mammal stock gave origin to the simian ancestry; and from that day to this the human branch has gone forward by progressive evolution, while the simian tribes have remained stationary or have actually retrogressed.)"

Interesting research site (note icons at top to select category of research).
What category is descriptive of the UB? Weird? Religion? Longer Life?

 New millennium concept: a Urantia Book kiosk could be attended by a member of the AI Know guild and display that icon (making the kiosk also a good information center). When WiFi-enabled and AI AI attended, the kiosk will gain reputation for more than UB proselytizing. In fact, the AI Know icon will necessarily infer UB sponsorship rather than UB proselytizing. 8)

Speaking of AI Know concept, that icon (indicative of AI Know guild membership) would include two ratings:
Internet+AI usage ability and rating by peers of effective, unbiased, research. :roll

:study: Good example of finds on this research site ...
Re: https://www.studyfinds.org/loners-play- ... evolution/

"A study by Princeton University researchers finds being different from the pack isn’t a bad thing. Researchers say those outcast members of a species who hang back from the crowd play a vital role in evolution. Study author Corina Tarnita says there are many examples of loners in the natural world: wildebeests that don’t migrate with their herds; locusts that separate themselves from the swarm; and bamboo that flowers before or after the rest of the crop." :o

"The Princeton team says loners are an ecological and evolutionary insurance plan. They’re a way to diversify a genetic portfolio to make sure social and collective behaviors survive."

 Caution: Typically a poor-paying job with little (or no) feedback on performance.

"A brief history of gender neutral pronouns"

"it was from the 18th century onwards that people started using male pronouns when describing someone of a non-specific gender in writing and this marks the time when opinions on what pronouns should be used started to change."

 Thus, the UB manuscript was written in the language of the early 1900's and anticipated to be effectively communicative for many decades. The Book would not have been well-received had it not used male pronouns as most writing of that period. And to avoid yet another rewrite (in the future), we'll need a UB that reflects true gender neutrality (where specific gender is not required by context). Also, don't forget that
there are 64 specific genders already.*

:study: Re: https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/gend ... l-pronouns
"Here is a list of gender-neutral pronouns:

He/She -- Zie, Sie, Ey, Ve, Tey, E
Him/Her -- Zim, Sie, Em, Ver, Ter, Em
His/Her -- Zir, Hir, Eir, Vis, Tem, Eir
His/Hers -- Zis, Hirs, Eirs, Vers, Ters, Eirs
Himself/Herself -- Zieself, Hirself, Eirself, Verself, Terself, Emself"

Quick summary of the "Restatement" changes (from Urantia21 site Introduction)

- Gender specific pronouns and designations replaced with gender neutral references.
- References to spirit beings changed to terms that are not gender specific.
- Deleted most of the Bible quotes.
- Removed paragraph numbers.

 The value of this Restatement, not yet published, will need to be determined by future readers.
That this final sentence of the UB was removed is good indication of what to expect in this revised text:
"When all is said and done, the Father idea is still the highest human concept of God."

 All the science behind the hypothesis of the 'God Gene', VMAT2, but begging the question:
Why would Urantia's Life Carrier-supplied evolution purposely constrain spirituality
(some people have much less expression of this gene) :?:

:study: Re: https://symbiosisonlinepublishing.com/g ... ence12.php

"based on a combination of behavioral genetic, neurobiological and psychological studies.
(1) spirituality can be quantified by psychometric measurements;
(2) the underlying tendency to spirituality is partially heritable;
(3) part of this heritability can be attributed to the gene VMAT2;
(4) this gene acts by altering monoamine levels; and
(5) spiritual individuals are favored by natural selection ...

:study: Re: https://www.nature.com/articles/ng1204-1241

"VMAT2 ... controls the transport of key neurochemicals called monoamines and may account for a fraction of the genetic variation in spirituality. In fact, monoamine modulation is the mechanism through which many psychoactive drugs may work and through which some of these drugs (such as psilocybin) might produce intense experiences sometimes described as spiritual or religious."

 Physics Q & A ...
Q: "How do you get order from nothing?"
A: Read UB Paper 36 - The Life Carriers

Re: https://getpocket.com/explore/item/firs ... ry-of-life

" 'What Jeremy is showing is that as long as you can harvest energy from your environment, order will spontaneously arise and self-tune,' he said. Living things have gone on to do a lot more than England and Horowitz’s chemical reaction network does, he noted. 'But this is about how did life first arise, perhaps — how do you get order from nothing.' "

UB Paper 36 - The Life Carriers, 3. Life Transplantation

"Life does not spontaneously appear in the universes; the Life Carriers must initiate it on the barren planets. They are the carriers, disseminators, and guardians of life as it appears on the evolutionary worlds of space. All life of the order and forms known on Urantia arises with these Sons, though not all forms of planetary life are existent on Urantia." (36:3.1)

"The corps of Life Carriers commissioned to plant life upon a new world usually consists of one hundred senior carriers, one hundred assistants, and one thousand custodians. The Life Carriers often carry actual life plasm to a new world, but not always. They sometimes organize the life patterns after arriving on the planet of assignment in accordance with formulas previously approved for a new adventure in life establishment. Such was the origin of the planetary life of Urantia." (36:3.2)

"When, in accordance with approved formulas, the physical patterns have been provided, then do the Life Carriers catalyze this lifeless material, imparting through their persons the vital spirit spark; and forthwith do the inert patterns become living matter." (36:3.3)

"The vital spark — the mystery of life — is bestowed through the Life Carriers, not by them. They do indeed supervise such transactions, they formulate the life plasm itself, but it is the Universe Mother Spirit who supplies the essential factor of the living plasm." (36:3.4)

 Contemplation of what the UB revelators meant by their use of "the Christian church."

"Christianity" refers to the ism (that which is promoted by the communities of believers).
"Christian church" refers to communities of believers, including but not limited to institutional church.
That Jesus "fostered it" would encompass all of the ways that Jesus (Michael) now has influence over
the communities of believers while respecting universe free will. 8)

Apparently, the revelators referred to this definition of "church":
Re: https://www.britannica.com/topic/church-Christianity

"In the New Testament (church) is used of the entire body of believing Christians throughout the world" ;)

 Therefore, "church" encompasses more than formal groups of believers (including institutional church)
and "Christian" refers to a member of this "entire body" (rather than member of institutional church).

 Re: https://getpocket.com/explore/item/a-ne ... ss-evolved

"This Theory Explains How Consciousness Evolved"

"The Attention Schema Theory (AST), developed over the past five years, may be able to answer those questions. The theory suggests that consciousness arises as a solution to one of the most fundamental problems facing any nervous system: Too much information constantly flows in to be fully processed. The brain evolved increasingly sophisticated mechanisms for deeply processing a few select signals at the expense of others, and in the AST, consciousness is the ultimate result of that evolutionary sequence."

:idea: From the UB (consciousness occurs because of the bestowal of mind to a "wide range of life";
AST theory might explain how the brain evolved to become receptive to the mind bestowal) ...

"Consciousness, much less self-consciousness, cannot be explained by any theory of mechanistic electronic association or materialistic energy phenomena." http://www.theub.org/part-iii.html#P112_2_10

"Human consciousness rests gently upon the electrochemical mechanism below and delicately touches the spirit-morontia energy system above." http://www.theub.org/part-iii.html#P111_1_5

"Mind is not inherent in energy; energy is receptive and responsive to mind; mind can be superimposed upon energy, but consciousness is not inherent in the purely material level." http://www.theub.org/part-i.html#P009_4_2

"Mind is unity; mortal consciousness lives on the mind level and perceives the universal realities through the eyes of the mind endowment." http://www.theub.org/part-iii.html#P102_2_5

"The unique feature of mind is that it can be bestowed upon such a wide range of life. Through his creative and creature associates the Third Source and Center ministers to all minds on all spheres. He ministers to human and subhuman intellect through the adjutants of the local universes and, through the agency of the physical controllers, ministers even to the lowest nonexperiencing entities of the most primitive types of living things." http://www.theub.org/part-i.html#P009_5_3

"Bible Quotes in the Urantia Papers"

Perhaps the greater perspective is that Bible quotes were included where supportive of that UB context and that the original meaning was preserved (or revealed or restated) in the UB manuscript, regardless of source (including midwayer records). We can be certain that, regardless of Bible changes over time, the quote presented in the UB was edited for content accuracy (or even edited for best meaning as of UB publication).

An example: Bible Quote in Paper 25 (in paragraph context, as edited for the UB manuscript) ...

"And when man’s ascending soul stands before the Supreme Judge, the decision of eternal import will not be determined by material successes or quantitative achievements; the verdict reverberating through the high courts declares: 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few essentials; you shall be made ruler over universe realities.' " (25:1.6)

Bible Quote in Paper 25 (as edited for the UB manuscript) ...

"Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few essentials;
you shall be made ruler over universe realities."

Bible Quote in Paper 25 (as published in the KJV Bible) ...

(Mat 25:21 KJV) "His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things,
I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."

(Mat 25:23 KJV) "His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things,
I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."

(Luke 19:17 KJV) "And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little,
have thou authority over ten cities."

:study: New possibility for the UB's "school of Meganta" ...

"Rodan made his way back to Alexandria, where he long taught his philosophy in the school of Meganta.
He became a mighty man in the later affairs of the kingdom of heaven" (161:2.12)
[note: "school" is not capitalized, suggesting "Meganta" is a place, or concept, or ? ]

Re: https://www.sacasiancc.org/financial-and-banking

" 'AXIA' is a Greek word meaning 'strong, powerful, worthy, deserving, in keeping with, value and merit.'
The suffix 'nta' means 'of heart, to serve and to give.' "

Re: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/mega-

"From Ancient Greek μέγας (mégas, 'great, large, mighty')"

From the UB's Rodan Papers ...

"I am deeply impressed with the custom of Jesus in going apart by himself to engage in these seasons of solitary survey of the problems of living; to seek for new stores of wisdom and energy for meeting the manifold demands of social service" (160:1.11)

"Rodan made his way back to Alexandria, where he long taught his philosophy in the school of Meganta. He became a mighty man in the later affairs of the kingdom of heaven" (161:2.12)

 Thus, "Meganta" could be a Midwayer creation for "school of mighty service" in the kingdom.

:study: (From Oxford Languages) ...

"political
- relating to the government or the public affairs of a country.
- relating to the ideas or strategies of a particular party or group."

:study: (from the UB) ...

"The rule of the Most Highs, the overcontrollers of political evolution, is a rule designed to foster the greatest good
to the greatest number of all men and for the greatest length of time." (134:5.4)

 Thus, the seraphim guide mankind in its political performances to keep advancing from individual perspective to group perspective to country perspective to world perspective, then on to universe perspective. In this advancement, the Most Highs rule wherever possible and permitted. That all performances are ongoing and overlapping create complex, challenging - even entertaining - theater for the seraphim, et al.

For when humans awaken each day on stage 606, their revised (or not) personal menu of performances is unique and à la carte. 8)

"Do you consider the fifth epochal revelation to be an emergency revelation?"
(a question presented this morning on another chat board)

:sunflower: My first thought ...

A Magisterial Son is due to arrive "soon" on 606 of Satania -
the UB begins the preparation for that "near-term" visitation. 8)

 Apparently, the visitation is planned (not an emergency) - that enlightened humans do not prepare could be problematic,
but then the visitation (incarnation of an adult?) would necessarily be delayed.

"Subsequent to this first and usual magisterial visit*, Avonals may repeatedly serve in a magisterial capacity on the same planet both before and after the appearance of the bestowal Son. On these additional magisterial missions an Avonal may or may not appear in material and visible form, but on none of them will he be born into the world as a helpless babe. (20:2.6)

* Jesus incarnated on earth, making a next visitation an "additional magisterial mission". ;)

 UB Paper 73 provides a clue that a Magisterial visitation will occur after advance planning by humans who have been "informed" to anticipate the visitation. And incarnation of this Son is not likely to occur immediately upon his arrival but in relation to the world's expected receptivity. Until then, Secondary Midwayer (et al.) assistance* will at times permit humans to view this Son. ;)

* "They exist just outside the range of mortal vision and possess sufficient latitude of adaptation to make, at will, physical contact with what humans call 'material things.' These unique creatures have certain definite powers over the things of time and space, not excepting the beasts of the realm." (77:8.11) See also: http://www.theub.org/part-iii.html#P077_8_11

 This rapidly advancing earth's science is a good reality check that the UB's science, as explained in 101:4.2 below, is not revelatory (but might anticipate near-term discoveries; perhaps, discoveries starting to be investigated just prior to UB publication). Thus, the UB's science is necessarily limited by that known during the development of the Papers. And Matthew Block is a stellar source for those sources! ;)

"Mankind should understand that we who participate in the revelation of truth are very rigorously limited by the instructions of our superiors. We are not at liberty to anticipate the scientific discoveries of a thousand years." (101:4.2)

"Throughout your Urantia bestowal you need be concerned with but one thing, the unbroken communion between you and your Paradise Father; and it will be by the perfection of such a relationship that the world of your bestowal, even all the universe of your creation, will behold a new and more understandable revelation of your Father and my Father, the Universal Father of all." (120:1.4)

“As concerns the planet of your bestowal and the immediate generation of men living thereon at the time of your mortal sojourn, I counsel you to function largely in the role of a teacher. Give attention, first, to the liberation and inspiration of man’s spiritual nature. Next, illuminate the darkened human intellect, heal the souls of men, and emancipate their minds from age-old fears. And then, in accordance with your mortal wisdom, minister to the physical well-being and material comfort of your brothers in the flesh. Live the ideal religious life for the inspiration and edification of all your universe." (120:2.5) - http://www.theub.org/part-iv.html#P120_2_5

"And when you shall have finished this bestowal experience, you will know in very truth the full meaning and the rich significance of that faith-trust which you so unvaryingly require all your creatures to master as a part of their intimate relationship with you as their local universe Creator and Father." (120:1.3) - http://www.theub.org/part-iv.html#P120_1_3

:study: Jesus' mission was indeed a success ...

"Never on all the worlds of this universe, in the life of any one mortal, did God ever become such a living reality as in the human experience of Jesus of Nazareth." (196:0.3) - http://www.theub.org/part-iv.html#P196_0_3

"In the Master’s life on Urantia, this and all other worlds of the local creation discover a new and higher type of religion, religion based on personal spiritual relations with the Universal Father and wholly validated by the supreme authority of genuine personal experience." (196:0.4)
http://www.theub.org/part-iv.html#P196_0_4

"Jesus brought to God, as a man of the realm, the greatest of all offerings: the consecration and dedication of his own will to the majestic service of doing the divine will." (196:0.10) - http://www.theub.org/part-iv.html#P196_0_10

"Jesus’ earthly life was devoted to one great purpose — doing the Father’s will, living the human life religiously and by faith." (196:0.14)

[comment on another chat board] 8)

"Traditional Christian systematic theologies are all constructed around these four basic categories:
A theory of God, a theory of the universe, a theory of man, and a Christology."

[my comment about the comment]

"This hints of pre-Christian universe-level influence, considering that humans on most inhabited planets have thought adjusters, the planets are visited by a bestowal Son, and the Spirit of Truth pervades all planets (after Jesus' resurrection on Urantia). In other words, "theory of God, theory of the universe, theory of man, and a Christology (re: bestowal Son)" suggest pervading universe-level pattern of advancing spirituality."

 Contemplation of the trend toward gender neutrality ...

Considering that the Fifth Epochal Revelation is a text for humans and that anthropomorphism is the necessary reality of humans, promotion of "gender neutrality" (diffusion of identities/roles) is akin to removing colors from a wordsmith's palette. In contrast, "gender inclusivity" (revelation of identities/roles) provides greater depth of expression, as recorded in the text gifted to humans living on 606 of Satania.

At the extremes of expression - for human experience - gender neutral text reduces the dimensions of revelation instead of increasing those dimensions. Going forward, more and/or better words are needed to express gender inclusivity instead of the revelation-diffusing effects of gender neutrality. :finger:

Incidentally, English is but one of many human languages on 606. If gender neutrality represents the future of this revelatory text, this diffusion will be obvious - even necessary - in those other languages! Until then, a gender neutral text - in one language - is likely to be perceived as unique literary creativity - not improved expression of gifted revelation. ;)

 "What's so special about Urantia21 ?"

It's the new Urantia 2020 vision test ...
with cosmic depth perception!

"So, it's just an eye chart." :o

No, it's a mind chart - it inspires you to claim ...
"I've got a good mind to ... comment about Urantia21". ;)

"The evolution of human vision can be traced back to the very first primates*
that evolved 55 million years ago, a study of a tiny mammal from Madagascar found"

"despite their diminutive size, the endangered grey mouse lemur's visual system
is just as big as that of other primates."

* reference to a small lemur found only on the island of Madagascar.

Urantia Paper 61 - The Mammalian Era on Urantia
6. Primitive Man in the Ice Age

"The great event of this glacial period was the evolution of primitive man. Slightly to the west of India, on land now under water and among the offspring of Asiatic migrants of the older North American lemur types, the dawn mammals suddenly appeared. These small animals walked mostly on their hind legs, and they possessed large brains in proportion to their size and in comparison with the brains of other animals." (61:6.1)

:farao: Midwayer prompt of near-term event (?) ...
For several days, a digital thermometer in my house has displayed 61.6 degrees all day :!:
despite the furnace coming on occasionally; cool but intentional to reduce heating cost.
This is very unusual precision for this 10-year-old, battery-powered thermometer!
Now, UB paragraph 61:6 appears when researching science article found today. 8)
