"Hokkaido eased restrictions on March 19, allowing businesses and schools to reopen after cases fell to one or two a day.
But 26 days later, the island has re-enforced its lockdown after 135 new cases were reported in a week."

Obviously, this virus will spread however it can ... and with its characteristic longevity (including on surfaces) and the many asymptomatic people, generous reopening of society now is probably not wise. However, neither is severe lockdown the answer ... apparently.
A compromise seems critical with those "at risk" most isolated from those more likely to be asymptomatic. After all, the real stress on medical resources (according to the news) is usually from "at risk" patients who develop severe complications. And until widespread societal testing occurs, what data sources benefit the prediction models? Statistical Ouija Boards?
Incidentally, air seems to be the more consistent means of transmission (IMO), suggesting that indoor air conditioning can be just as problematic as breathing air contaminated from an infected person nearby (or recently nearby).
