Seems logical if the virus is replicating quickly when the immune system is just beginning to respond
(symptoms begin to appear but immune system still needs time to learn about this new pathogen).

Paraphrased: Hydroxychloroquine shortens recovery time if administered when minor symptoms first appear,
otherwise it might provide "some protection" against worsening symptoms.

(IMO): People do not have identical immune systems - 80% seem to have "some protection" already.
And many discussions online about "microbiome" (good bacteria in the intestines) suggest that
immune system health/responsiveness is directly related to a good microbiome.

Tip: The microbiome is often compromised when antibiotics are administered.

Such controversy about hydroxychloroquine ...
with doctors parroting that it's not a proven cure for COVID-19.

Evidence seems to be accumulating that it's effective for treating
some of the symptoms of the disease, like inflammation. Perhaps,
the drug is misperceived as a cure when it's more like an OTC Tylenol
yet necessary preventative if inflammation causes lung failure.

If a large number of tourists have already been exposed and recovered, their immunity might limit the risk,
but tourists who are asymptomatic carriers might increase the risk to those not yet affected by the virus.
Also, many of the tourists probably traveled by crowded public transportation.

A subtle warning that a smart phone (often constant companion) knows where you are,
keeps reporting your location to a database, and might need to take a separate vacation
for your special outings ... lest you be publicly "outed".

Then again, ubiquitous cameras and facial recognition technology can be effective Plan B
for knowing your whereabouts. Maybe Uber service is needed to transport your smart phone
to a different location for your special outings?

Then again, credit card transactions, similarly tracked, can be effective Plan C
for knowing your whereabouts. Maybe a second digital identity is best?

Dr. Wittkowski favors "herd immunity", created when more people are exposed to a virus, and suggests that "at risk" people (elderly, adults with serious medical conditions) separate from the herd for a while. An enlightening interview but not necessarily the best advice and solutions (IMO). For example, how practical is "close nursing homes" since relatives and friends could not easily provide similar care? and these same people might be asymptomatic carriers!

Worth noting: COVID-19 is primarily an airborne disease, but clean hands and surfaces help prevention.

Bottom line: Recent analyses now have the advantage of hindsight - much has been learned about this virus as the weeks go by.
Herd immunity is indeed developing by so many asymptomatic carriers of the virus having shared it so well in previous weeks.

Good discussion about Vitamins C and D and how such therapy can help recovery,
but dietary abundance of nutrients is usually more effective before illness occurs
... and might even help avoid the illness.

Caveat: Injected vitamins typically require professional watchcare.
