"Family Feud contestant goes viral with hilarious answer when asked 'what's Popeye's favorite food?' and loses thousands
when she gets it wrong - but the fast food giant is rewarding her gaffe with $10,000 worth of fried chicken" :roll

Q: What's Popeye's favorite meal?
A: Fried chicken and spinach.
Q: And what about Olive's?
A: Just the green pickle.

"If you’re intermittent fasting and you hadn’t had a late dinner, it won’t happen until midway through the morning"

 I thought that "midway through the morning" was the time to get up ... then have breakfast.
Breakfast timing over the centuries seems related to a typical 12-hour fast after the day's final meal
... after which the body is ready for its "break fast" meal. ;)

or listening to the Fab Four songs instead of the pastor's Sunday sermon: Beatle Cheatle)

:!: :!: Entrepreneur Alert

Did you know that the Memory Peg Road System (MPRS, think "empowers")
is easy to create and associates so well with numbers, especially 0000 - 9999.
These 4-digit numbers also permit years to associate as "roads". 8)

The secret of MPRS is that we are familiar with specific roads and can easily imagine
things, stores, whatever along these roads ... and this is the secret of memory:
new memories require "pieces" of existing memory in order to be created.
These "pieces" can be images, ideas, thoughts, smells, tastes ... whatever. :roll

 Guess what! MPRS is so new that you can be the first
to document how it works - even sell related merchandise! :finger:

 A roll of toilet paper is not "toilet" paper until used as "toilet" paper.
Until then, it's a roll of thin paper with small sheets. Therefore ...

To use these mini paper towels, place roll on one end on decorative plastic saucer.
Then, unwrap the mini towels instead of pulling on the roll. To convince that this
is a roll of towels, insert a decorative shot glass in the top opening of the roll.
The saucer and glass provide visual allusion that this is MP - not TP. 8)

Note: Need for mini paper towels is evidenced by the current offering
of even smaller sheet sizes by paper towel manufacturers. ;)

:meds: Long story very short ...

Cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) are being reported in China and nearby countries (with transmission to the rest of world possible by affected passengers on commercial transportation). Articles that discuss methods of better-preparing the body's immune system for public exposure to SARS include daily garlic pills.

;) Bottom line (IMO) of this exemplary (and LENGTHY) NCBI research: Enteric-coated pills taken with non-protein* small meals are best. The explanation of gastric emptying is very enlightening because stomach acid (increases during meals) has long been known to decrease the effectiveness of certain medications and supplements (thus, the need for enteric coating). The smaller meal (well-chewed ; - ) decreases the amount of time needed for stomach digestion, permitting the enteric tablet to continue into the intestine for its dissolution and absorption. :finger:

* protein that does not need significant chewing (like yogurt, cheese, protein powder) is not a problem ... apparently.

:study: Re: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6073756/

"Garlic foods prepared in the kitchen are usually made by the cooking of raw cloves or bulbs, such as by roasting or boiling or stir-frying, all methods of which completely inhibit alliinase. It is also common to simply dice (cut into small cubes) raw garlic and add it to various foods, a method which does not inhibit alliinase."

"The reason these high-protein meals delayed the gastric emptying time for enteric aspirin is related to the fact that food must be digested to particle sizes of 1 mm or less in order to exit the stomach through the pyloric sphincter, but it takes several hours for this amount of digestion to occur for meat chunks and other foods that are slow to digest. Once the food has been sufficiently digested and expelled from the stomach, non-digestible objects, such as enteric tablets, are expelled by the final sweep of the interdigestive myoelectric contraction."

"The bioavailability of allicin from garlic powder supplements containing alliin and active alliinase can be as high as that from an equivalent amount of crushed raw garlic containing maximum allicin, when consumed with a meal."

We as a species certainly do make some silly controversies. Now a person cannot ask for help peeling a banana without someone making a ta do about it. I can't remember the number of times I have peeled a banana for someone struggling with this seemingly simple task. ( Bananas can be "wily creatures" at times even for the best of us) What's it to the line judge anyway as to who peels what. He basically robbed the young ball girl of contributing to the well being of another.

silly, silly times we live in.

 Fresh garlic is often mentioned to help protect against viruses
... which brings to mind an easy recipe:

Cilantro Pesto - viewtopic.php?f=47&t=25032#p189799

8) However, today's version en casa used ...
1 large bunch fresh cilantro (including stems)
15oz can cannellini beans, drained
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
3 med. cloves fresh garlic
2 tbsp white sesame seeds
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/3 cup water

After mixing in food processor, if desired,
stir in 2-3 tbsp fine oat bran (reduces moisture).
 Less water also reduces moisture,
but oat bran adds important fiber. ;)

Refrigerate overnight, then stir before serving.
