With such popular tradition, in the future with faux meats (then faux poultry, faux pork, faux fish, etc.),
What will be pardoned? Will this be a Faux Pardon, Faux Pas, or Faux Foe (unit of entertainment energy)?

but otherwise be healthy, tasty ... and NOT "road kill".

"Today's Roadkill" could be reserved for experimental items,
waiting for significant and favorable customer response.

"Faux Roadkill" could refer to fresh veggies fallen from trucks.

I recall the dump truck that used to drive by a downtown Dallas donut shop
40 years ago with its exposed load of fresh beef(?) bones. If bones had fallen
from that truck, the menu special would simply be "Beef(?) Soup".

What birds/animals/insects might like to live in this highrise?
And the plants and trees will need significant watering.

Will weather be kind or typical in affecting this highrise garden?
Is future plant weight calculated in the building's support

Who pays for the plants' and trees' upkeep? ...
as well as extra building maintenance? Tenants

Perhaps, a "shopping bag reward" might work ...

Customer gets to choose a free item near the cash register (or cash discount relative to total purchase)
if they bring in their own Shopping Bag For Life. This promotion might end months later (customers
will then have been "trained" to bring in their own bag).

Of course, not all bags will be hygienic to reuse in a food store, so Plan B seems best:
Customer gets cash discount relative to total purchase AND one-use bags brought back
(or no charge for new bag if one brought back to recycle).

However, the amount of plastic used for grocery bags is negligible
compared to the plastic used for food take-out and other containers.

Hi Rod,
Winter before last (July) the stores in our area all went bag free and required (with a short grace period) everyone to bring in their own shopping bags. I must admit I forgot my bags countless times and had to purchase new ones but now I have an endless supply to share with others who forget. All in all, it has been successful and most people are beyond the grumbles and accept it as a way of life.

I'm still mystified how plastic shopping bags became the center of attention, especially in most Western cities where that plastic trash goes to landfills ... and stays there! Also plastic shopping bags represent a miniscule portion of plastic trash ... yet bags remain the primary target!

I suspect that manufacturers of food/drink containers - significant plastics pollution! - don't want the attention because there's not an economic solution for that trash. Bring your food, drink, and other plastic containers in for refill? Indeed!

This holiday negativity ignores the greater benefit of exercise: good physical health, which is more than weight loss and appearance! So much can be read into these holiday advertisements, like why is the husband so trim and healthy looking? Perhaps, her Peloton gift to him the previous year? Was there a sexist backlash to that? ... since she would reap those benefits of a fit mate.

Besides, most exercise equipment is "unisex" - it might have been an indirect gift to himself since she borrows his own Peloton so often
... and judging by the home/view, the family enjoys more entertainment/recreation/exercise than a stationary bike.
