Re: https://detroit.cbslocal.com/2019/08/27 ... ss-street/

"A man’s pickup truck was stolen while he was busy stealing items from a business across the street"

"The suspect, riding by on a 10-speed bicycle, saw the keys had been left in the seat,
threw his bike in the bed of the truck and fled"

 Entertaining, but ...
how can keys be seen on a seat when riding by on a 10-speed ... and the truck is in a parking space?
... unless the "riding by" was really "stopping to look for keys left in a vehicle." ;)

 This article hinted that a garden hose (or how it was used) might be racist ... :o

would be the only possibility ... therefore, most unlikely!

"Kirchner was issued a citation for disorderly conduct following the incident. He said in district court
he made the 'gunlike' gesture after his neighbor gave him 'the finger with both hands.'"

 Must be poker hands ...
a one finger gesture with each hand beats a two-finger gesture with one hand ...
when decided by a court. And a one-finger gesture is not "disorderly conduct".

"It works the same way with social security programs: there needs to be a minimum number of workers paying into the system for each retiree receiving benefits. This is known as the ‘worker-to-retiree ratio’. And that minimum number is usually between 2.8 and 3.2, meaning it takes approximately three workers kicking in a portion of their paychecks to pay the benefits for each retiree."

:study: More about "Faux Meat Faux Ever" ...

Re: https://www.theguardian.com/food/2019/j ... ubstitutes

"He directed me to a Harvard study from 2016 which suggested that people who ate more plant protein and less animal protein had lower overall risk of death, but the plant protein in the study was mostly beans, pulses and nuts rather than Quorn “bacon” strips. Then again, maybe the consumers of fake meats do not expect them to be particularly healthy"

"Rosborough points out that meat-free burgers contain on average even more salt than meat burgers: 0.89g per serving as against 0.75g. Rosborough also notes that when switching to these products you also need to consider what nutrients might then be missing from your diet, such as iron and B vitamins." ;)

I knew about tapping on the neck of a ketchup bottle,
but worried that it wouldn't work if the '57' were missing.

Some letters on my keyboard wear much faster than others,
but (apparently) I don't 'F' and 'J' so much when typing.

I wondered how to shift gas tank arrow to next gauge (like oil level)
... similar to < > arrows on cell phones and computer screens. :?

 What are "jeans"? I recall similar blue pants many decades ago,
but quit wearing them because they were hot in summer and cold in winter.
They wore well for tough physical work (unnecessary in my IT career). ;)

Large channel-lock pliers also increase the torque on a screwdriver,
but if sandpaper doesn't improve grip more torque may ruin screw head. :(
