Sandy,
Uh, oh! What if we're both chasing butterflies?!
Was just reminded of a poem I'd written when Aleah was about 19 months old.
You And I Chased The Butterflies
You and I chased the butterflies,
awe twinkling in sparkled blue eyes.
Jaw jutted, fists balled, elbows bent,
running a young run, on and on so intent.
Breezes softly kissed tousled curls,
oblivious to us was the rest of the world.
Happily observing nature's children flit and flutter,
rising and falling one blossom to another.
Pink balls lightly scented, a favorite we were to discover,
lying down in flowered sweet clover.
Watching you as you watched them completely amused,
content, silently smiling, careful not to move.
Urge to touch them clearly possessed!
Winged creatures adroitly avoided a gentle caress.
You and I chased the butterflies,...
This is one of our moments my daughter and I.
Aleah's mom
...Excuse me while I take a short trip down memory lane.

And Spirit whispered, "There are no limits."
We are akin to the aspen forests, seemingly separated but in actuality, one organism.

ERIC!!!!! ole friend, ole pal ole buddy .... You're not really interested in butterflies are you?Uh, oh! What if we're both chasing butterflies?!
Kim that poem...what can I say. Wonderful! I was transported to a day more memorable then a President's inauguration...Oh if only we could go back and do it all again. Thank you for sharing that. Many of us can identify with that perfect moment in time.
My Mom was talking about butterflies today when I was speaking with her over skype. She reminded me of the many brightly coloured butterflies that were attracted to the Weigela bushed in the front yard and I can't tell you the number of childhood hours I spent watching them and the many honey and bumblebees that competed for the pollen/nectar.
We used to see these guys too. https://www.fs.fed.us/wildflowers/polli ... moth.shtml
very cool.
