"Just 20 minutes in an urban park will boost happiness, new study finds - and you don't have to exercise"
Well ... walking is good exercise and the 20-minute distraction
hints that whatever you were doing before is a bit stressful ...
with "before" sometimes referring to life itself.

In contrast, memory development advice suggests making a conscious note when/where you put your keys

use your experiential neurons to decide how best to interact to lessen stress.
Re: "WORK IN A CHARITY SHOP"
LOL2: Go to a charity shop to shop ...
where you might meet interesting, economy-minded new friends.
Re: "TAKE UP CARPENTRY"
LOL3: Discover new ways to use tools and materials ...
then go to a hardware store to hear how to use the right tools and right supplies.
Enjoy amazement (or perplexion) when a salesman can't believe that you'd use duct tape

Nevertheless ... a stimulating article about brain plasticity
And I always leave my wired mouse in the same place!

Lookin' for something positive about this performer's life ...
Michael's music, performances, and talents were enjoyed - even appreciated - by young and old for years! That Michael was such a popular star may explain how children having the supervision of responsible adults, some aka "parents", could have been permitted to be so vulnerable.

Somehow, "smartphone" seems oxymoronic if users walk in front of moving traffic
Maybe a new app could turn off the display if you're in a city crosswalk.
Of course, users will then be more focused on the "broken" phone.

Re: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemtrail ... acy_theory
Despite the many voices claiming that "chemtrails" do not exist (or that what you see is not a "chemtrail"), I've observed jet planes' vapor trails for previous decades and they were never the long-lasting white trails sometimes seen in recent decades over metropolitan areas - worldwide The vapor trails were consistently short despite the changes in weather ... and the spraying of "non-existent" chemtrails (or whatever) is usually conducted in good weather, probably for better distribution of the particles they contain.
... which segues to the point: Our metroplex weather was clear and cool yesterday as a number of jet planes created a criss-cross pattern of "non-existent" chemtrails, resulting (hours later) in a hazy sky that was clear before the spraying started.
... which segues to a related point: Today, I auto-programmed my TV reception (uses antenna) and collected the greatest number of channels in a year! I surmise that "non-existent" metallic particles in the chemtrails improved my antenna reception (broadcaster towers 30 miles away).
Technically, if a "contrail" is defined as the exhaust from a jet engine, then a "nonexistent" chemtrail is also a "contrail" ... unless it is not spewed from a jet engine. Who can tell Perhaps, we might learn the truth about "non-existent" chemtrails when we learn the truth about "non-existent" UFOs and their visitations.

The higher the risk (as with aging), the less beneficial daily low-dose aspirin.

Re: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog ... past-lives
"These types of memories typically fade, by the way, around six years of age, according to Tucker. The kids involved usually express a desire as well to fully embrace the life they’re in now."
"Could there be a mechanism, somewhere between life and death, where memories associated with the struggling person’s circumstances are preserved? It would be akin to the echoes, preserved down the eons, of the Big Bang observable through faint but distinct background radiation. Except in the cases we are considering, the intensity of the person’s feelings – his or her life energy, self-awareness and being – might somehow be captured in a fusion of space and time. This 'imprint' might become available for another, nascent life form – not “his” or “her” memories (as in reincarnation) but a transmutation just the same."
Analysis suggesting that a past life's facts can be known without the remembering person being the reincarnation of that former human.
Also, young children may have the mental (psychic?) ability to "tap into" an intense memory stored on a permanent metaphysical internet (PMI), for example; ability that fades with their increasing age. This suggests that a child's memory of that past life is not fading but that the child's access to that memory stored "online" is weakening. The specific memory accessed might explain the connection between the emotions(?) of storing that memory (on the PMI) and the emotions of accessing that memory (from the PMI).
"Say what?!" Real life Twilight Zone stuff.

900 passengers were still on board when the engines were started, but this SOLAS standard might also explain why the 479 passengers were quickly taken away by helicopters: "International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), an international maritime safety treaty, sets the safety standards for cruise ships. Regulations require each side of cruise ships have enough lifeboats to accommodate 37.5% of the total number of persons on board (passengers and crew), 75% in total. Inflatable or rigid liferafts must accommodate the remaining 25% of passengers and crew."

Good progress toward head transplantation but still far from such transplantation that will require extremely complex surgery and anti-rejection drugs, etc. Ultimately, a successful head transplant will prove (IMO) that we are our brain (host of a non-material mind and soul) and not the physical body attached to the head.

Regarding the never-ending new diets, none will surpass Shakespeare's
"Eye of newt, and toe of frog, Wool of bat, and tongue of dog"
(complete recipe: http://www.potw.org/archive/potw283.html )
"DieT(ea)" comes to mind - serve with Eye of Newt.

"Underboob" is not so provocative ...
the prefix "under" is the real problem word!
Consider more words that begin with 'under':
- underwear (not related to use of dictionary)
- undereating (not related to underwear)
- underbosses (not related to underboob)
- undershorts (not related to stock market)
- understands (not related to bleachers)
- undertaker (not related to grave robber)
- underwriter (not related to desk chair)
- understates (not related to "down under")
- underunder (not related to dictionary)
