"in 1898 in US v. Wong Kim Ark, the Supreme Court held: 'The (14th) amendment, in clear words and in manifest intent, includes the children born, within the territory of the United States, of all other persons, of whatever race or color, domiciled within the United States."

"In law, domicile is the status or attribution of being a lawful permanent resident in a particular jurisdiction."

So ... perhaps, the definition of "domiciled" has changed over the decades ...
or has been interpreted to include unlawful residents, temporarily residing in the U.S.
Apparently, the U.S. Supreme Court will be called upon to further define "domicile".
