Let's assume that Edentia is located in the Orion Nebula. For the sake of argument.

Just watched The Contact movie again, after many years. Interestingly, it starts with a camera sequence moving away from Earth deep into the space.

Guess what, they attempted to show how it would look like to pass through Orion Nebula. Check for yourself. A trip from Earth to Edentia, right there in the movie:
