I've never spent much time looking at NDE stories although I'm aware there are some marvelous ones. This particular story really struck my fancy. In a way it is like a Jill Bolte Taylor story in that a top flight brain surgeon experienced something he had always dismissed as halucinations and it profoundly changed his life.
