Lovely article, Welles... I feel all peaceful after having just read it...
I Personally feel that enlightenment can come to us in small increments with every moment lived fully and in appreciation with God centered awareness. But obviously from this article and the many discussions on this subject, sometimes, and often when a person least expects it, the most amazing thing can happen and he or she has an "enlightening experience." This can awe and even over awe an individual, making some nearly mental, as what occurred with my own mom many years ago.
I am wondering if because we all are so different one to another if enlightening experiences too sort of reflect that difference even to the extent of varieties of perceptions at this incredible time. It would be interesting to view the similarities and the differences. Actually this has probably been done in an old book called, "Cosmic Consciousness" which speaks of enlightening experiences of historic individuals over the centuries. We have it here sitting big as life on our shelf where its been for years but as of yet I haven't read it.

Still, I have listened to George talk about this many times and it does seem there is a thread of sameness about the experiences. And between your experience, Geoff, and George's experiences many years ago I see similarities.
Well, I'm still waiting...
