Staying In Your Own Business — by Byron Katie

Post by Welles »

This is a positively delightful little article. I don't think any description I might have would do anything but detract from it. Maybe it is a little like a thought of mindfulness. :roll

Thanks Welles. I see what the author is saying but it seems in many ways we are all intertwined. I'm not sure it is as simple as the article intimates and even should it be? I can honestly say that there have been times someone has gotten into my business and it has benefitted me greatly. But maybe I am missing the point. Will read the article again and more carefully this time. ;)

I took that article as an interesting perspective rather than a rule to follow. It was more like a recipe. Recipes to me are general guidelines that always are to be modified to fit the circumstance. I came away from reading it with an amused nod of agreement at the idea of not getting all upset about 'God's business.' For years I've lived by a situational principle, "if there is something I can do, do it. If there's nothing I can do, go on." I also have another simplistic motto, "Love thy neighbor, leave 'em alone." (Of course that doesn't apply when someone asks for it!)

I get it now... and will view all articles I read with a more relaxed and open attitude... then take what moves me and leave the rest for someone else who may very well wish to bake a beautiful cake with it...

 Nice! I really need to work on the "going on. part."

Thanks for that toothy smile today! :D I have a feeling that one will pop into my mind since reading it at appropriate times. ;)

Hi Welles, hi Sandy,
"Love Thy Neighbour" Boy! was that one of the more difficult life tests I've personally been
through since moving here! Such racial hatred aimed at us from the minute we walked through
the main door. I got ill, and we as a family were falling apart from all the negativity.
When we went camping, it would be a lot better obviously.
All of the racists have moved or died. My neighbour's moved to Bastia but we had long since
made up and that was good.

I no longer pine for the little farm in Wales. 6 years and finally moved on
ॐ LOVE Petra
