"The term 'CAPTCHA' was coined in 2000 by Luis von Ahn, Manuel Blum, Nicholas J. Hopper, and John Langford (all of Carnegie Mellon University). It is an acronym based on the word 'capture'' and standing for 'Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart'."

:study: Comprehension of this two-squared-circles geometry (new design, "Encaptcha", near the end of the Parallel Dimensions file) hints that your neurons may not be biological ... but I just claim to see a bagel with colored icing. 8)

:flower: Design and name changed: Tres Encaptcha

Three squared circles are now displayed, all geometrically related to the green scalene triangle.
Circles' diameters = 1000000, 1414213.562.., 2000000 units.

The light blue square near the center will be my focus (after a summer break :sunny: )
to explore this conjecture: "To square the circle one must circle the square."

Re: Tres Encaptcha

:flower: Now, four squared circles; design redrawn to verify accuracy (within 3 decimal points).
"Tres" refers to the golden 3 which have directly related diameters: 1000000, 1414213.562, 2000000.

Perhaps, creativity to "compensate" for yesterday's physical and mental challenge: a friend's upright freezer in her warm garage (this is Texas) was full of full of meat and other food but the freezer had stopped working. Long story short: I volunteered to help and in the process got drenched with melted vanilla ice cream (the carton broke as I removed it from the freezer). But no time for a break to clean up - we had to work fast ... and for hours.

 By the end of the day all was well. The packages of food that could be saved were cleaned of the strawberry preserves on the top shelf that had mellted and oozed over the other packages; the freezer began working once the ice blocking the air vent was melted. Probable cause of the problem: a sagging door seal made worse by a nearby electrical cord that caught in the door the last time someone accessed the freezer.

Lesson learned: when you're drenched in vanilla ice cream and still focused on the task at hand, you appear sweeter than strawberry preserves ... to the person whose frozen food would have spoiled. :love

 I'm convinced ...

:study: Squared circles exist in a continuum between the opposite ends of infinity! The smallest circle (diameter = 707106.781) just added to the Tres Encaptcha design proves the progression in both directions. So, "Tres" is redefined to encompass just the three circles in the 45 degree angle of the green scalene triangle.

Dios Mio! I won't be able to complete the design on this side of Paradise. :stars:
So, a summer break with a rational stein (or two) will not impact the research.

I know from your posts you are a pretty good bread maker and so I was wondering if you ever made home made bagels before? I tried for the first time last week and while they tasted, shall we say, adequate, they did not look as any bagel should.

Sandy,

:D I've never made bagels, but this recipe looks good:
http://spoonful.com/recipes/bake-your-own-bagels

I would try to simplify the preparation by cutting a hole in the center with a cylindrical object (shot glass?),
then use the round pieces of dough to make another bagel (or just cook as bagel biscuits). :finger:

Thanks Rod...That is exactly what I needed. :D
I made a mistake I think in searching first time around for a Hawaiian bagel recipe (one with coconut and pineapple.) Perhaps I should have kept it simple till my skill and confidence improved. One of the troubles, too, was that both Hawaiian recipes found on the internet used a bread maker which I do have but it isn't mixing the dough properly so after 3 attempts at machine kneading I wound up gathering it all by hand. So it is quite likely that something may have gone amiss. I like the way this recipe has you dividing the dough into balls and placing on a floured surface which may have been another problem I encountered just before the boiling part of the recipe. My bagels were sticking to the suggested parchment paper and being pulled out of shape as well as loosing the risen volume just before placing in the water. I'll try this recipe within the next couple weeks, just as soon as we finish the off shape pineapple bagels that are hidden in the freezer. (We must pace ourselves where bread is concerned :) ) Anyway, I so appreciate this recipe and the bagel making details it supplied. :sunflower: I have truly missed the enjoyment of a good solid, chewy bagel every once in a while over here. ;)

Sandy

Sandy,

:finger: Without knowing anything about a Hawaiian bagel recipe, I would expect that the Bake Your Own recipe could be modified this way:
1 cup diced dried pineapple, 2/3 cup shredded coconut and 2 tsp organic pineapple oil, all mixed into the dough before the first rise.

I'm adding that "pineapple bit" to the recipe, Rod, for future reference. I've never seen organic pineapple oil at the grocery store but I bet the health food store would have some. I have decided the old adage, "practice makes perfect" could apply here and I am determined not to give up this time. Honestly, you would laugh at some of my bread baking adventures. Good thing I don't have to make a living in this way...

In the updated Tres Encaptcha geometry design ...

:geek: "Tres" now refers to the three inscribed triangles in the large golden circle.
Design contains four squared circles of which two are partially displayed.

Upper red triangle alludes to trigonometry that calculates the square of a circle.
Lower red scalene triangle performs the same circle-squaring for the small golden circle (100000 units diameter)
as does the large green scalene triangle for the large golden circle (2000000 units diameter).

 What does this bundle of neurons associate with "red"? Cabbage:
http://www.breadexperience.com/red-cabb ... seeds.html
(see comment, May 23)

Continuing experimentation resulted in a really good red cabbage recipe;
so good, that I've been consuming one head per week (one per month was the norm),
usually eating this as a cold salad (what convenience!).
Increase the apple cider mixture if you like the sauce.

Who would know? Cabbage is related to geometry! :o
Oh! It's the circle ... and the sphere.

Michele,

I haven't been able to stop improving the Tres Enacaptcha design - it will be a starting point for later research. The red "arrowhead" seems to be pointing to an important clue (at least, the top line of the arrowhead is the same line that was associated with the smoke alarm event months ago).

:geek: For distraction, I wandered to the kitchen to create a dark rye bread recipe. But creative redirection occurred here also (recipe will be posted on the internet):

Teff ‘n Stuff Bread :bana:
Some of the goodies: Teff flour, Spelt flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, raisins, walnuts, honey, brown sugar. :roll

"In this experimental kitchen, a first attempt at creating a dark rye bread recipe made a sudden turn down a country lane when Teff flour was added to the recipe. With no signposts to guide this culinary meandering and several forks in the lane, the recipe ended with complementary ingredients, a chocolate note and no rye flour. Serve with chocolate fondue if you dare!" ;)

 Geometry Quija Board?

Being so indecisive about the completion status of the Tres Encaptcha design, I tested new colors today for part of the red "arrow". And for the past few weeks I've been contemplating whether or not to accept my friend's invitation to visit her cabin on the lake in Finland. :?:

:farao: With an obvious "GO" appearing in the design today, the decision should have been easy. Yet, I recalled that "GO" was not a word on the Quija Board*, so I checked online to verify this. Oops! "GO" is the first two letters of "GOODBYE" at the bottom of the board.

Summer break is mandated! And no laptop for geometry exploration ... but I'll be looking for crop circles :roll

* Another coincidence! Yesterday, on another chat board, I had mentioned my childhood experience with the Quija Board.

Michele,

:sunflower: This Tres Encaptcha geometry just begs to be converted into a game board:
"Scalengo" (two level derivation: "Scale 'n Go" derived from "scalene triangle + "GO")

:geek: Proposed game:
Basic knowledge a student should have upon graduation from high school*.
Not just the facts but skills and use of resources to obtain the facts

Using cell phones, computers, etc., during the game might be allowed but would be time-limited.
Answers could be challenged and would be verified by similar resources.
Theme: "Learning is a lifetime adventure, involving group participation."

 Roll the die to start the game:
game board position determines information category;
number on die determines difficulty level (or school grade).

* Game versions for kindergarten, grade school and college might be developed later.
This is best developed as an electronic game but could also be a physical game board.

The new "Go" with five squared circles (two completely)
because every first grader knows that "GG" back-to-back is not "GO".

 Societal strategy: Begin training children and young adults to access
the overwhelming volumes of information now collecting worldwide
A simple Google search today can produce millions of hits ... :duh
no one has time to evaluate even 1% of this information!

:farao: Most unusual geometry! (now with better color balance)

While I was adjusting the colors for balance, I was contemplating how such a knowledge game could be structured (how to use the board, rules of the game, appropriate data, etc.). But I was curious why this geometry caused me a different, mild headache for several days, yet kept luring me within its inscribed, overlapping or juxtaposed objects.
Best guess: thrashing neurons! :duh

:geek: Quick analysis ...

This geometry has become a modeling paradigm for "out of the box" thinking - one's neurons keep trying to associate the geometric objects and lines in accordance with 20th century (or earlier) educational training and experience, but success is difficult ... or impossible. Yet, when new ways of associating information/facts/concepts are discovered, the paradigm's functional use becomes obvious!
The inherent symbolism of geometric components enrich the paradigm: :bana:

- not-so-subtle word "Go" mandates progress (go try to be successful).
- "Go" is aligned with the symbolic arrowhead of the green scalene triangle (go deeper within your mind).
- five underlying squared circles ("impossibilities" that may be achievable with belief, effort and new information).
- straight line of the "G" combines with the "o" to create a symbolic magnifying glass (look closer to make new discoveries).
- two nested golden circles (smaller fits within the inscribed square of the larger, suggesting familiar universe structure and stability).
- each of two sides of scalene triangle is a diameter for a circle that is squared by the other side (suggesting exploration will be rewarded with new discoveries).
- back-to-back scalene triangles: one green, one red; both square a circle and both circles are related geometrically (rearrange/contrast concepts to discover new possibilities).
- promotes a new mantra: corral the creativity-limiting doodles of previous centuries (re: 000 . 0 0000 0 00000 000000000 ...).
- red right triangle at top appears as an exclamation mark: "Go and think independently as enlightened 21st century humans!"

 Finally, I'm ready to leave this geometry exploration and "Go!" ... :bike: ...

Re: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3JA6OQTRMKTWF

The adventure continues ...

I was tasting the final version of this sauce, first conceived as accompaniment to the Teff 'n Stuff Bread, when I glanced at the kitchen clock: 6:28 PM. I sensed a prompt but 6:28? Within a minute I recalled that my wife passed on to the mansion worlds on June 28th seven years ago. So, here I am standing in her kitchen - then, I was permitted to make my own messes if I cleaned up afterward. No sadness now - I'm convinced that life continues for us soon after our arrival on the mansion worlds.

:farao: But this anecdote is really an introduction to a new geometry design now in progress. As sometimes happens, a dull headache upon awakening from sleep preceded this new exploration (I just sit at the computer connecting lines, allowing the design to flow as it desires). But new understanding about squared circle geometry seems to be reflected in this design:

 Squared circles are defined less by the rules of Euclidian geometry and more by the complex patterns inherent in squared circles. And this latest design seems to include a beginning lesson about duality in the universe. I'll complete the design sufficiently for first presentation, calling it "Circular Duality". This geometry should give me plenty of meditation exercise for next month's vacation along the lake near this museum, built by my friend's grandfather: http://www.visavuori.com/ :roll

Hi Rod,
No sadness now - I'm convinced that life continues for us soon after our arrival on the mansion worlds.

That does help doesn't it? I can't imagine how anybody who saw no life after death could deal with looses of loved ones.

I have enjoyed viewing the link to Visavuori. It looks to be a wonderful place to loose yourself for a day. The setting is stunning!
I have also enjoyed your review of Ghirardelli Natural Unsweetened Cocoa and the simple recipe you provided for readers to sample. We have a bunch of grapes in the Fridge that would go nicely with that tonight. I have never seen spelt flour here...I wonder if I would find it at a health food store because the Teff ‘ Stuff bread sounds like another winner from your kitchen. George is asking me to try my hand at bagels again so maybe with a few technical revisions it would be a good project on a cool day like today.
Love,
Sandy

Sandy,

:bana: The discussion about a lake reminded me of skipping flat stones across a pond, trying to achieve greater distance (and skips) with each stone. And then I was just a stone's throw from another round of geometry exploration.

The full title of the latest design in the Parallel Dimensions file is "(In Search of the) Ley of Lindemann" :finger:

... with "ley" referring both to law (Spanish) and ley lines (red lines confirming the circle-squaring property of the green scalene triangle)
and including the rhyming of "the ley" with "delay" (alluding to Lindemann having successfully delayed this centuries-long search).

 Who is Lindemann?
The German mathematician who proved in 1882 that squaring the circle is impossible. :?
However, the red "ley lines" in this design hint that tools of inquiry may promote or delay the search.

Continuing ... In the Search of the Ley of Lindemann (design was updated): :flower:

With the phenomenal capacity of the human brain to recognize patterns,
one would surmise: if one circle is squared, all three are squared
... and all by a similar scalene triangle. 8)

:farao: And perhaps ...
if the Eye of Providence were drawn today with the insight of modern society,
the triangle might be uniquely scalene but nested as three,
creating the most powerful "Eye of the Trinity".

:study: See also:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_of_Providence
http://altreligion.about.com/od/symbols ... idence.htm

"By the 18th century, many Europeans, particularly educated Europeans, no longer believed specifically in the Christian God, although they did believe in some sort of singular divine entity or power. Thus, the Eye of Providence can reference the benevolent guidance of whatever divine power might exist."
