Birth and death

Post by serene »

Hi!!

Since you were all so great before at balancing my thoughts, I figured your advice is probably needed AGAIN!!

The last 2 weeks have been a bit manic, a death, funeral, a birth followed by a wedding in 10 days!! Obviously its been a bit of a rollercoaster emotionally, I have been really trying to meditate - yet I seem unable to.... instead I have number sequences coming out of my ears.

How can I balance my thoughts without meditating, or how can I calm down enough so I can Meditate??
I think I am asking the impossible!
Hope you are all well!

Thanks

Hi serene,
Breathing has a lot to do with racing thoughts...just slow it down....too much upper chest breathing sends the mind into a merry-go-round. Just try it and see how you feel. Awareness as to what we are doing is so helpful. All those major events happening at once would be a lot to cope with. Sending you a (((hug))) Hope this helps you.
Love lilly xoxo

Thanks Lilly...

I think you are right.. its that exagerated breathing to try to keep yourself calm in situations. It really probably isnt helping, not after 10 days anyway.
I need to try to relax a little, but with everything going on around me the only thing I can do is Breathe.. if you know what I mean!
I meditate to relax so Im kind of going round in circles
Im now trying to relax my breathing and let it go naturally, hopefully that will help tonight.

 Very gratefully received and returned xx

Im feeling more at ease so to speak, but am still unable to connect. However I had an intense burst of numbers and woke at 4.44 this morning.
Im hoping that it is a sign that I am being looked after and that I shouldnt worry so much about it.

Maybe some long deep prayers could make the difference? It might help get some things off your chest.

Hi Serene

and welcome to the mb,,,,I've been 'away'....

my first thoughts coincided with Lilly,,,,just to keep breathing,,,nice and slow like....but relaxed,,,,

it would be hard to 'maintain' with all that going on at once,,,

however,,,I thought Redshift had a really good idea....

sometimes when it's just about all 'too much',,,,a nice chat with God helps,,,,just talking within,,,,sometimes brings peace,,,'without'...

bless your heart,,,,,,I know we'd like some 'time' between these life changing events....but when they come in packed like sardines,,,,well (that's if you like sardines),,,,just kind of look at the whole package and bless it...

Praying might be a good idea!!
I didnt think of that.... sounds silly but I often just talk to myself lol!!

Major life events always throw themselves at me all at once, this time though I am trying to have a more peaceful transition than my previous experiences have given me, I have been hoping that my faith will guide me, and it has just not in the way I expected it to. I thought I would get peace from meditation but instead I cant, I would feel abandoned but I have woken again at 4.44 and car reg j888 and p666 have all made appearances, so I know I havent been abandoned, maybe I just need to find my own peace!

I will pray this afternoon, I know I have the house to myself for an hour.

serene,

talking to 'yourself' is a good thing too,,,

after all,,,we are children of God,,,,and the Father and Mother are always with us....part of us...as we are part of them...

so in essence,,,talking to yourself is 'talking to God',,,,

our innermost thoughts and feelings are always known,,,,we hide nothing from our Parents,,,,we just forget....

but the 'pipeline' is always there and open....

Bless Your Heart,,,,and have a peaceful hour this afternoon.

Hi Serene,
I love the idea of prayer too and talking out loud or in whatever way seems most connective to you. And along this same line ..something interesting happened this week...I was sitting downstairs with our friend, Geoff's, cat on my lap. As I stroked his soft fur I began talking...at first to Sunshine (the cat) but as I talked I think in reality I was really talking to God. Sunshine just happened to be a little catalyst that brought out some of my deep seeded worries or fears...I told Him/Her (God this time) all about it as I stroked this ball of flab and fluff. (He is truly a huge cat)
I felt so much better afterwards...Gosh there are so many ways to connect with God?... this time I seemed to use kitty power... :)

Anyway dear serene, I pray you find peace and rest despite the major life events that are unfolding all around you. {{{{HUGS}}}}

Love,
Sandy

Hi Sandy,

Did you know that the vibrational level of a cat's purring is very healing??

apparently there's been quite a few studies on how it affects people,,,

they do have a calming effect.....I think the purr is around 50 Hrtz...

Its true, Animals are so wonderful at healing and calming effects.

I love being at the stables around the horses, and my dogs always know when I need a cuddle! My cats used to love curling up on my pregnant belly, and the purring used to settle baby, so they could sleep in peace.. or she would kick them off

I am feeling much better after praying however I am still struggling with meditating.
Sometimes I think I think too much :?
I am taking the dogs for a long walk this evening the wind and trees always makes me feel so much better!

well sweetie,,,

the more you 'struggle' the more it ain't gonna happen....

so relax,,,,,let it all go,,,,,and just breathe....

do some conscious breathing,,,,slow in and out to start,,,,it has a calming effect all it's own....and keep your focus on your breath....

where it's going,,,how it feels,,,just notice everything about it....

then enjoy your walks while you're doing this,,,,you'll do better at the sit down ones soon....

I can feel it.......just relax

loves and blessings

Wow, No I didn't but in retrospect I should have from some of my past experiences with cats. That's it! I'm trading in my parrot... (Just kidding ..love the little darling)

Oh Serene, the walk sounds wonderful! I used to feel so energized after being out and about in nature especially on a windy day.. Breathing in all that wonderful fresh air! ...So good! :D
Love and blessings to you both!

Hi Sandy,

me too...
Wow, No I didn't but in retrospect I should have from some of my past experiences with cats.
there was many a time when my two cats would act as a 'heater' for me,,

whenever I had a bout of bronchitis,,,and be sick for a couple of weeks...

I would lay on one side and one cat would be in the front and the other curled up at my back....

reminding me of the parrot,,,,did I send you pictures of a flower in Thailand (I think that's where it was)....and it looks like a parrot????

it's rather incredible....

Yes you did and they were absolutely gorgeous! I've never seen anything like it before... Well not in flower form anyway. They reminded me of the Rainbow Lorikeets I was watching in the bushes this morning. :D
Thanks sis!

YAY!!

Haha Im back to being me again almost..... The strangest thing happened.
I read a post regarding someone just sending lots of love into the universe. So i figured maybe instead of meditating and trying to communicate I should just send lots of cosmic love out there.

So the other night I did.... I just sent lots of love and asked for help.

Well the next day my mum called me she has found an old book of my grandads, the first 10 pages are missing so the book starts on page 11!

So after a bit of reading I settled down last night and yay I can communicate again....

I wonder if my grandad is my angel??
