problems focusing

problems focusing

it really is unbelievable, i have seen 11:11 at least 5 or 6 times a week for the last few weeks, i have this feeling as though it is building to something, like i am seeing this more frequently as a sign that something is coming or a significant event is coming. I am not sure what to do, if i should just let this happen, or should i try to focus on something to help things move along by focusing. Ive been trying to focus before bed at night but i find that my everyday stresses (uni, work, family, etc) are clouding my thoughts. Is there something i can do to clear my thoughts and help my focus?? thankyou so much in advance

Dear taryn,

Go with the flow, is my suggestion. Enjoy the ride. It is likely the prompt will change soon, to prove that its not you making it up.

Meditation is the way to focus, but its not an easy thing, and generally we all spend years trying to get better at it. The AC has helped a lot of folks "jump start" the process.

Hi Taryn,
I too have these kinds of problems sometimes. It seems thoughts and work left unfinished weighs heavily on my mind at times. Some suggestions I have received... make focusing or meditation a beautiful ritual. Find a special comfortable spot that is reserved for this and light a candle or place a beautiful flower there... enjoy the beauty in this quiet time you are creating, first with your thoughts as you dwell on the physical beauty placed there allowing your mind drift awhile and pushing aside the assignment due tomorrow, etc... and then as tomorrow's stresses loosen their hold on your mind it is easier to focus on quiet strength and peace within. Not sure this is making a bit of sense... :scratch:

Another approach is to use sound...focus on the sounds you hear in the distance. Then gradually narrow your focus until you are listening to the sounds within the same room...then take it even further and listen to your heartbeat...the beat of life within...focus on this and expand it within as you envision this life beating within others closeby, gradually expanding to include everyone in your town and state and country...the world..the universe...allow your mind to contemplate the source of this life...Be in this state awhile and allow your inner ears your inner eyes to reach into the stillness of the moment.

Some people also exercise or dance ...do something physical before meditation because it helps create vibrations of good will within that are condusive to quieting the mind.

Taking a warm shower is also helpful in opening the body's pours and helping to put you in a relaxed state for focusing and meditation...

Well these are just a few ideas right off the top of my head..whatever you do please do not give up because it is not ever hopeless...meditation is a process of learning and accumilating I think. Be patient with yourself...goood inner things are happening with every attempt whether you realize it or not.

Welcome to the board :D

I know what you mean; the mind really races when you have a lot on your plate. Focus/meditation really is the key, however, much easier said than done. George's Akashic Construct CD can really help you relax/focus...it works for me.
