Just Outside The Window

Post any poetry here. It's just too hard to define "inspired" in this context, so we will settle for that which inspires.

Just Outside The Window

Post by Seeker13 »

Realizing the world right now looks pretty bleak. Instead of sitting in worry and sorrow, for a few moments today I felt the need to set that aside and bask in Nature's wonder.

Just Outside The Window
March 21, 2020

Do you suppose, the little bird knows
his presence,
just outside the window,
brings so much joy to my heart!

It's later March, Spring's return is nigh,
when Old Man winter gets yet another laugh.
Spreading his cloak, releasing a blast,
covering the world in white.

The land newly draped in cold,
yet rods of sunbeams frolic,
fanning their rays so bold.
It is their turn to shine!

Temperatures,...stubborn,
hovering four degrees under freezing.
But the scene out there
unbound by rules is very pleasing!

A small invitation of suet and seed,
signals their flocking, filling a need.
Feathers laced with sunshine
oblivious to the white beneath.

Fly and swoop, flit and flutter.
Throw open each shade and shutter!
Peck and weave, snatching the seed.
Hard to believe!
… It's all just outside my window!

Kim
And Spirit whispered, "There are no limits."

We are akin to the aspen forests, seemingly separated but in actuality, one organism.

So beautiful Kim.

The world needs more of this, especially at the moment.
Took me to another place, a much happier place. :sunflower: :sunflower:

Thank you
Shane.
